Wow, first last week Nikki was OCSM of the Week.....and now this this week! Now that is what I call totally fucking AWESOME! I know Nikki feels the same way...it's a GREAT feeling to be appreciated! Even though he's not a regular in this thread (not sure if he's posted in here at all before actually), a HUGE thank you to CSkylar86 for the nomination! That was uber cool of him! Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for Nikki last week and for me this week! :hatsoff:
Great Pixies selections there jitna my friend! When I selected the ones to post, "Gigantic" was a definite one....the other one I picked was MUCH tougher...BUT, the two you posted were on my short list. Posting all of these Pixies clips made me remember back in the day....I had a friend who worked at a record store (remember those?....ha ha ha!) who hooked me up with all kinds of promotional stuff for my room when I was in high school & college & I had some Pixies album art work (along with a lot of other stuff from other bands of course...promotional posters, album art work, etc.) on my walls. Made me wonder what happened to all of that stuff. Trust me, I had some REALLY cool shit! Ahhhhhh, those were the days! To go back then & know what I know now! Ha ha ha!

No doubt! John S. (& jbs173_1972 for that matter) is a LEGEND on FreeOnes (and the Universe for that matter)! I can only hope one day to be as awesome as John S. (or Nikki Nova for that matter)! He was a helluva lot cooler about it than Pat Buchanon was when all of those poor elderly Floridian Jews accidentally voted for him instead of Al Gore back in 2000! (no, I can't let go of that...no way a bunch of elderly Jews intentionally voted for Pat! I mean, we got "W" as a result! Ha ha ha!) Ha ha ha!
Now jitna, I take it you like (the) Pixies? What is your favorite album? (back when there actually was such a thing! Ha ha ha! Funny they still use that term though! I actually remember vinyl...though people do still make vinyl records)
Now, as often happens, when I revisit music of my youth after a period of absence.....I actually can't get it out of my head......"Gigantic" is playing in my head....NON STOP!!!! Thank God I didn't listen to shitty music when I was younger! Most people thought I was pretty cool, but I was also known as a bit of a brain, so my friends always though it a bit surreal that I actually partied (well by the definition of the word where I grew up anyway...beer and weed anyway) Ha ha ha! Hell, I'm actually beginning to feel a Helluva lot younger recently even for some reason! Which for me is a GREAT thing!

my enjoyment of the Pixies stems mostly from mp3s. when i saw you post the Pixies I had to go searching my ipod to see what songs i had .
vinyl is much more long lasting than other forms. someone can always pull out a record, but i was watching Jerry Maguire on cable and there's a scene where the babysitter pulls out a cassette and im going "wow, how long ago was this thing made?"

That's so true! Compared to vinyl...cassettes ARE really dinosaurs! Hell, compared to cassettes, even 8-Tracks are cool...if only for the novelty of them! It seems, for me anyway, that cassettes are the ones I always forget (music wise)....and I don't think I actually even owned any 8-Track tapes! Ha ha ha!

I never denied that I was devious, I just like to keep a low profile.
By the way, I have been remiss in not congratulating Nikki on her win as OCSM of the week, and her television show Nova. I have watched many of the them over the years.
