I don't think Ovie was making a statement about Steen, I think he was making a statement about everyone. He and Stamkos are the best goal scorers in the league, head and shoulders above everyone else. It's too bad there hasn't really be a stretch of time where both have been healthy and on top of their game, because the two of them battling each other all year for the scoring title and both ending at around 60-65 would be awesome for the league.

Good post and right on the money!

The Bruins' PK is insanely good right now. It's gotten to the point where while I'm watching it, I don't even care if they give up the game-tying or go ahead goal, just as long as they kill the penalty off first.

It's so nice having a goalie who can out-duel Henrik Lundqvist and shut just about anyone down on any given night. I don't like calling any one goalie the single best in the world because I feel like it changes fairly often. There's usually about 3 that are clearly and consistently a cut above, and I'd say right now those three are Rask, Lundqvist and Quick. However, I can confidently say that Rask is hands down the best in the world right now. It's subject to change, but goddamn can that kid tend a net.

Next up for the Bruins are Jagger's Blues. I like a lot of their players and I love their style of team hockey with an emphasis on 3-zone play. Reminds me of the Bruins a lot, and it's a good way to build a team for sustained success over several years. Should be a great game, but I doubt Tuukka will play considering his workload over the last week.

Thursday's game is huge for the Blues. Although we have the fewest regulation losses in the league, all 3 were ugly and came against really good teams (Sharks, Lightning and Caps). I'm hoping we'll be up to the challenge and I damn sure hope that Rask is between the pipes for you guys....to be the best, you've got to....oh well, you know the rest. :D See you tomorrow night!

I doubt he plays considering he just rattled off 4 in 5 days and we play 6 in the next 10. And that sucks, because you want to put your best line up out there against a team like St. Louis. Although McQuaid and Seidenberg are hurt, and maybe Bartkowski. That's 3 of our top 7 d-men either out or playing hurt. I'm sure the Blues aren't at 100% either though... This IS hockey after all.

Well, the news from the morning skate is surprising, looks like Rask will be in net tonight and McQuaid is back as well.

Leopold and Berglund are both injury scratches for us but Cole and Paajarvi have been very good fill-ins in recent days so we should be good to go. I'm certain it will be Halak between the pipes for us. 2 more hours....should be fun!!

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Will Gregory Campbell get a Gordie Howe hat trick? Already has the goal. Just need an assist and a fight.

What a classic battle between the Blues and Bruins! Hockey at it's finest. Both teams played their asses off. In the end, I think Halak was the difference. That certainly showed in the shootout. Next time, the results could be different. This time, we won. And I'm happy! :partysml: :glugglug:

That was a fucking great game, and a perfect example of why shootouts suck. Obviously you want a winner, but having that kind of game settled the way it was seems to tarnish it a bit. I'm pretty confident that they would have gotten a winner if OT was 10 minutes, given the chances both teams had. Either way, great game, hopefully a Stanley Cup finals preview.

I agree. A shootout is really a letdown either way. I mean, I'm glad we won it but it would have been so much better if Roy's shot in OT would have found the back of the net instead of glancing off the crossbar. Same way with Soderberg's shot (you guys want Toivonen back for him?? LOL) from your standpoint. With 4-on-4 I can't see the game lasting that much longer. There's just too much open ice to play any type of lockdown defense so shooters are bound to get good chances. When that happens, you're going to have a goal before too long. Fun game, I love your team....may your finals wish come true.

Wow. The Blues just keep rolling. Shutout the Wild last night (sorry Scott!) and have outscored the competition on this short homestand, 9-1. Steen got #18 and #19 (although #19 was an empty netter but hey it counts either way). Next up....at the Avs on Saturday....should be a battle!

Yeah man that's a tough break for y'all. He's awesome. Is Zucker still playing at Des Moines? If he is, he'd be an ideal call-up while Parise is out.

By the way, I had my schedule wrong....Blues play at Pepsi Center tonight at 8 Central.

That's the word at that other forum.

That sucks. It's also one of the things that worries me about Granlund. He's a terrific talent but I don't know if he can withstand the rigors of the NHL style of play. I hope he can....what a playmaker! He's not quite as fast but his puckhandling skills remind me a lot of Pavel Bure....he's that good.
