Bruins withdrawal :(

Yeah, I have been jonesin' for my Blues too.....and they play again tonight on the road in Vancouver. Some of the guys just got back from Sochi 2 days ago and there is a 12-hour time difference so I wonder how fresh guys like Backes, Oshie, and Pietrangelo are going to be.

Injuries are hitting the wings hard this year. Zetterberg out for 8 weeks after back surgery. The playoff streak might end this year.

Lotta big names on the trade block.

St Louis wants out of Tampa because Yzerman originally left him off Team Canada? The only reason he got on the team was because of Yzerman. His play proved he didnt belong on the squad and he got a gold medal anyway. Really changes my opinion on the guy. Go to NYR and miss the playoffs the rest of your career. Drouin will replace his scoring eventually and Callahan is a stud with many good years ahead of him. Ship his ass out, Stevie.

Ryan Miller to the Blues. That guy with that D will be scary as hell. This is an old rumour and I'm too lazy to see if it has been brought up already. A lot would have to be sent back to Buffalo. Halak and a 1st at the very least. Probably a roster player and prospect thrown in. Any word on this, Jagger?

Ryan Kesler to Columbus?

Malcolm Subban on the block?

LA looking to add another scorer. Vanek, Moulson, Camalleri, Gaborik all rumoured.

That rumor has been circulating for weeks. I don't see it happening if Buffalo is going to want a core player (rumored to be Oshie, Shattenkirk or Schwartz) plus a draft pick. It's been proven many times that a Cup can be won without stellar goaltending....just look at Chicago last year. Crawford was good enough, not great. Halak/Elliott combo can be adequate. Miller is a UFA and will want a shitload of cash. Not worth it IMO. I say Armstrong sticks with what he's got.

Ryan Miller and Steve Ott to St Louis for Halak, Stewart, Carrier, 1st and 3rd round picks.

Good trade for the Blues imo. Goals will be hard to come by against them, that's for sure.

Huge win for the Blues. Stewart is a Jekyll/Hyde player who frustrated Hitchcock so Ott can fill his role very easily. Word was that Buffalo would want someone of more stature (Shattenkirk, Oshie & Schwartz were rumored) so to lose a player like Stewart is much easier to swallow. Gigantic upgrade between the pipes for us now with Miller who, I am sure some would take exception, could be the best goalie in the league when he's got the support of a defense like the Blues have. Ballsy move by Armstrong.....the guy is developing into an outstanding GM....the best the Blues have ever had. Makes Larry Pleau look like an amateur. I am excited....can't wait to see what happens now!

Wow. I thought for sure we were going to piss this one away. You guys really brought the forecheck hard in the 3rd and we were sitting back on our heels. Third straight game we have let 3rd period leads slip away....disturbing trend even though we won. These teams are almost mirror-images of each other. We've been lucky to take both games so far this year. Oshie's winner was ugly but Rask left the post open and it went in so I'll take it. Like I always say....the Blues are the greatest!!! LOL....

But you most definitely can't win a Cup without proper goaltending.

Congrats on getting possibly the best goalie on the planet.

True.

Now, if we can finally get over the Sochi hangover and start scoring goals again. Miller will undoubtedly start tonight for us against Phoenix. Brutal road trip for us immediately after the Olympics....who the hell makes up this crazy schedule?? :dunno:

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
I broke down and got directv again about a week ago. The first two Bruins games resulted in losses to Buffalo and Washington. I was about to get rid of the dish, but with the Bruins win last night, I realized it wasn't me and was probably the Olympic hang-over. Whew.

They pulled it together in the third last night. Poor Phoenix to crumble like that in front of their crowd.

We got headcase Bryzgalov for a fourth. That's fine with me, I guess.

Josh Harding should be one of the best in the league but his MS is killing him. Shit.

Boy did they ever. Fell behind 2-0 to the Bolts last night too before they stormed back. Disturbing habit of falling behind and having to play catch up in recent games. This team's style is much better suited to getting a lead and keeping it rather than making comebacks. Good to see Steen lighting the lamp again.

I agree. Sad to watch....such a great talent, so young. Sucks.

The Rangers give up their captain, Ryan Callahan, a 2015 first round pick and a 2014 conditional second round pick for 38 year old Martin St. Louis .... wow

Yzerman hosed Glen Sather. What a heist. And if the Rangers make the ECF, that conditional pick becomes another first. Doubtful, but wow.

Thomas to Dallas. One more hopeful playoff run in him maybe? Lehtonen must not have FOs confidence.

Vanek to Canadiens.
Moulsen to Minnesota.

Good pick up for both teams. Islanders really got the shaft though. Why trade Moulsen to begin with? Unless he wanted out. Now they're just rockin picks instead of proven commodities. Only a matter of time until Tavares gets fed up with that.

I know he's gonna be a UFA, but the Rangers should've GOTTEN draft picks in that deal. Sather got hosed!
