This has been an incredible post-season, best in recent memory for me. Three game 7 quarters in the next couple days, 5 of the original 6 getting in, all the explosinve tallent, and the crowds...they have been fantastic. The league is making a huge comback after the disasterous lockout a few back.
I'm rooting for Chicago (and sort of Boston) now, with some interest in the beloved Capitals.

Okay, the way the Bruins played games 2 to 4 in the Canes series this could be over, but it seems they regained their swagger and hopefully have had their play-off meltdown. But what would Boston sports be like without all that comeback drama? Yet there's still one game to play, but if the Bruins come out swinging like in the last two games the Canes can pack it in.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed center Mitch Fadden to a standard, three-year rookie contract today, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced.
“We are excited for Mitch to begin his professional career next season,” Lawton said. “He had multiple 30-goal seasons in the WHL and is also responsible in his own end. Mitch adds depth to our organization at the center position.”
Fadden, 6-foot and 175-pounds, played in 63 games in the WHL with the Tri-City Americans and the Lethbridge Hurricanes in 2008-09. He recorded 37 goals and 76 points, including 14 power-play goals in those games. He played in nine games with Lethbridge before finishing the season with Tri-City. He led the Americans in goals, was third in points and fourth in plus/minus with a plus-24. Fadden also ranked tied for ninth in the WHL in goals and was tied for seventh in power-play goals.
A native of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Fadden played in 10 games with Tri-City during the postseason, recording three goals and 16 points. He led the team in points and was tied for the lead in plus/minus with a plus-7.
Fadden has played in 341 career WHL games with the Seattle Thunderbirds, Lethbridge and Tri-City. He has amassed 136 goals and 318 points. Fadden played in 47 playoff games, recording 12 goals and 45 points. He was named to the WHL East Second All-Star Team in 2008. Fadden has posted three consecutive 30-goal seasons and has had a plus-20 rating or higher in each of the previous two.
The 21-year-old was drafted by the Lightning in the fourth round, 107th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Why ? he was good for Tampa 5 years ago but now he is not as good and he costs way too much imo. hedman is a special defenceman why waste a good chance to get a talent like him for Kubina ? We could have kept him back when he became an unrestricted free agent but Feaster decided he couldn't give him more money then Dan boyle and I totally agreed with him back then and I still do.
Great series for Ovechkin. Better series for Crosby! It's going to be fun to continue to watch these guys battle in future seasons.
What a SAD game 7. That was really bad. Hopefully the other 2 will be better .

I agree. Caps played like shit and Varlamov has been acting sloppy on his slaves. Is there a hole in his gloves? Caps looked tired out there, pathetic performance.
I'm a die hard Caps fan and I switched my nights around so I didn't have to work and went to BW3's to get some beers and wings and fuckin left at the end of the second period. That was the most pathetic post season performance I've seen from the Caps in a while. I still can't believe it. They came all this way only to lose game 7 in the second biggest road win in NHL playoff history.
I'da kinda rather they lost it in OT at Pitts than to go out like they did in front of their loyal fans.
Oh well, they still had a great year and made a great run. I give'em credit. :thumbsup:
