My Canucks are turning it on at just the right time of the season. Going to the Dallas game next week and I'm psyched! Luongo is back in top form and our un-sung heroes are popping up nightly to make big plays. A great TEAM feel to it all.

Detroit will choke in the first or second round. Everyone said they were going to win the cup those few years when they got whupped by Calgary and Anaheim in the first round...

I hardly call losing to two teams that ended up going to game seven of the finals choking.

The main problem with the Red Wings is they are making too many mistakes on defense which is leading to easy goals and a ton of odd man chances. Osgood comes out to challenge the shot like he supposed to and the D aren't doing their job on the sides making sure there aren't easy tap ins. Niklas Kronwall and Brad Stuart need to get back to hitting people. In last years playoffs these two struck the fear of God in the opposition. If you had your head down there was a good chance one of those D were going to make you pay. Right now its like Ice Capades back there. The entire Wings team needs to be more physical in their own end. I'm not talking about running out of position to crank someone, but don't be afraid to lay someone out when they try to bring the puck to the front of the net.

The offense other than sometimes getting a bit too cute and trying to set up the perfect play is doing fine. Holmstrom coming back will sort most of that out.

Got to watch the 3rd period of Boston/New York today. Really like the Bruins style...was rooting hard for a furious comeback. The 4th NYR goal was really weak...wtf was Manny Fernandez doing on that play?

Shit, the way the Islanders are playing, they might as well just hand Tavares and that number one draft pick to Tampa. They're going to fuck themselves over here and not get Tavares or Hedman.

Detroit needs to pick a goalie and stick with him. i would go with Conklin. The Bruins need to do the same with Thomas. i am a Bruins fan, but I am concerned the playoff style of referreeing will stymie the speed game they like to play, especially with the Kessel liine.

I lean toward Jersey, but then they throw a crap job like the game against the Islanders out there.

Philly is big, mean and have been getting decent goal play.

Calgary is tough. Always liked them.

The Bs have definitely gone with Thomas as their guy. The only way Fernandez appears in the playoffs is if Thomas gets injured or starts allowing five goals on seven shots every game.

I think the Red Wings should decide to go with Osgood. He's been there before and he knows what it takes to win it all, having done so multiple times. Obviously, if he keeps allowing seven goals on 23 shots the rest of the way out this season, then maybe I'll change my mind, but he did have a SO the game before that. Besides, I'll never forget when Conklin completely screwed over my Edmonton Oilers in Game 1 against the 'Canes; he came in when we had a one-goal lead and let in a WEAK goal and then he back-passed for no reason right to Brind'Amour for the winner, might as well have given him an assist on that one.

I agree that the Flyers will be tough to beat and the Devils are probably a lot of people's favorites in the East at this point. They have Brodeur, enough said.

Mauser--do you ever go to San Diego Gulls games?

i went a few times before they tanked (again). they haven't been around for years now. the last game i went to was Manitoba Moose @ Gulls. that must have been around 1999 or so.

My fondest memories of growing up were going to Gulls games. When I got my drivers license in high school, it was the best thing to do on a Friday or Saturday night. Call up my buddies, watch the Gulls kick some ass, and then head down to the strip club :D

When I found out they would not be coming back, I was bummed. I miss those days. The thing I loved was going to a Gulls game was a bargain. Every game was good game and tickets were cheap. What do we have now? Padres and Chargers. Well baseball is a boring sport to watch, and Charger's ticket prices are just ridiculous.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Bruins don't have the size up front for a deep playoff run. CBJ proved that last night.

"Bruins don't have the size up front for a deep playoff run" was worded this way because of the nature of the web site, ha ha ha

sorry, i cracked myself up.

and Tampa loses it's 25th game by 1 goal. if we'd won all those games we'd be in the top 5 best instead of 4 points out of dead last in the league

Wow, all three games tonight ended in shootouts. None of the right teams won, though.

Won't help you guys in a shootout, but I'm thinking if Tampa gets the first draft pick, they should go with Hedman over Tavares. I think he'd be a much bigger asset in rebuilding the Lightning than Tavares.

You're absolutely right , Tavares is a great player but Victor hedman would be a much better fit for the rebuilding process in Tampa.

Can someone give me a team to root for in the playoffs since my sabres probably wont(and dont deserve to) make the playoffs?:helpme:

The teams Im leaning towards

Boston (doesnt feel right)
Vancouver (fan of Alex Burrows)
Philly (Still like Biron from when he was in Buffalo)
