I was born in Hamilton and grew up there and in Edmonton. You don't have a clue what you're talking about if you want to claim that the Leafs are Canada's team. Aside from Toronto, the whole country hates them. And taking Zetterberg or Datsyuk over Lemieux is one of the most laughably idiotic things I've ever heard. Zetterberg and Datsyuk are two of the league's best players today. Lemieux is one of the league's best players ever.

if the wings traded hank and pavs for bitch 1 and bitch 2...they would have been taken out by the sharks......detroit is a team that plays a system and plays as a team....not a bunch of individuals trying to win scoring titles

the defense of zetterberg is one of the only reasons that detroit is still kickin in these playoffs....trade them away and you trade the first penalty kill unit....


as far as lemieux goes...sure he had a few years of extremely high point totals...but other than that...i dont really give a fuck...he was the biggest baby to ever play the game...and all the whining about clutching and grabbing just pisses me off........hockey is a 2 way game and mario was a 1 way player and for that reason he gets very little respect from me.......

as it turns out he is ranked #4 on most lists of the greatest players of all time....quite a bit higher than i would put him but could you imagine if he had the heart of a steve yzerman? they would have won 10 cups in a row

Datsyuk is the best two way player in the league right now. Period. The Wings didn't win shit until Stevie started to play both ways. Did his offensive numbers suffer? Yes they did, but the TEAM benefited greatly. Having a scorer is great, but you still have to have at least a few two way guys to win consistantly.

Well I did a little history digging, the Redwings have gone to game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals 6 times before tomorrow nights game, they are 3-3, on the otherhand the Penguins have never been in a gm 7 SCF's game.

The last 6 gm. 7's have been won by the HOME team, the last time a visiting team won gm 7 on opposition ice was in 1971.

The Redwings are 11-1 in this years playoff run, their only loss @ home in this years playoff run was in the 2nd round when the Redwings lost to the Ducks in triple overtime in game 2.

The Redwings last regulation loss @ JLA was on easter, it said (easter saturday?) So if history runs its course with tradition and experience being the ultimate difference then Detoit will win the 12th Stanley Cup in franchise history tomorrow night.

I am pretty confident they will win, but I hope Buttman doesn't become the culprit of the night & tell the REFS to sway the game, sort to speak, cuz that is stuck in the back of my mind, g_d forbid Buttmans butt buddy can't lose 2 years in row. :eek:

I just hope its a celebration in Detroit tomorrow night, an early lead, with insurance, and an OZZIE shutout will be grand. :2 cents: :bowdown: :angels::hatsoff:

history can't help us pick who's gonna win either. in the last 14 Finals game 7's, the home team has won 12. Pittsburgh is 4-0 in game 7's recently though...

Pittsburgh does not have the X-factor - Franzen.. No one on Pittsburgh's team matches up beside of course Crosby and Malkin.

You're right about one thing though, who cares about the Leafs right now? (Although you were the one who brought them up in the first place). It's all about my favourite game of the year, Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. It's been a great series so far, every game was fun to watch and a great game, with the obvious exception of Game 5. Datsyuk has been great, Kronwall too, and Osgood has been amazing. On the Pens side Crosby and Malkin have obviously played well, despite a lack of scoring, but other guys who are standing out for me are Rob Scuderi, Brooks Orpik, and Jordan Staal. This is going to be a great game tonight, it'll probably go to overtime. I'm sticking with my original prediction of the Pens winning. Overtime winner - Sidney Crosby off of a Malkin takeaway and pass to spring Crosby on a breakaway.

And, Marlo, I have a question for you: Do you still say that the Penguins team this year isn't as strong as last year?
