This has been me the entire season so far with the Washington Capitals:

First 11 games: :beatinghead:

Next 10 Games: :chickendance:

Past 2 Games and my expectations for the rest of the season: :suicide:

I feel for you Caps fans (no joke). The organization acquires a couple of great players but it looks like the team is poorly disciplined. A great example is the other day against the Rangers. Based on what I saw, the Capitals beat themselves - but New York took the credit. It looks like a group of guys who could be great if steered in the right direction. Of course, this is an outsider's perspective.

I was just looking at how tight the Central division is (Hawks aside). Detroit is a half game ahead of St. Louis (thought the Blues may change that tonight), St. Louis is one game ahead of Nashville (which may also change tonight), Nashville is one game ahead of Columbus.
Columbus has won their last 5 (and they took Vancouver to a shootout tonight)...Chicago has to play in Columbus on Thursday. We'll see if that winning streak puts the Blue Jackets in a winning mindset or if my Blackhawks will benefit from these 3 days of rest their currently on. They sure needed it.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
If Toronto wins the Cup, Bettman should fold the league. I know I don't want to see any cut-aways to that prick Mats Sundin

Fixed.

Hey, maybe now the Hawks can lose 24 straight to make things even. 2 down, 22 to go! ;)

i did post that the night they lost their 1st and there wasn't any action on the thread for a few days. so don't fault me for not having the 2nd loss posted.

I think it was a jab at the Hawks. Not at you. I guess he should've said "updated" instead of "fixed".

Interesting. It looks like St. Louis pulled ahead of Detroit by a point tonight by beating San Jose. I love the close ones.

By "game" and "half game" I'm assuming you mean 2 points or 1 point respectively. It's hard enough keeping up with the way teams are jockeying for position without having to use my "NHL to MLB" conversion table". :1orglaugh

Lighten up dude it was done in jest. No offense intended.

yeah, every year I get my hopes up because I mean, Ovechkin and Backstrom are two of the best plays in the league, and then Holtby looked amazing in the playoffs. I thought we would have a great chance, but the entire team is just so undisciplined. The Islanders game Saturday is a good example too, game's tied 2-2 in the 3rd period, caps are coming back.. Stupid Penalty, score is now 3-2.. But that's fine, we're only a goal down, we can come back, but nope another penalty and the caps wind up losing 5-2.. They really do kill themselves, but hey... Next year we've got this... ugh, why do I torture myself :anonymous

You sound like a Blues fan. :brick::hairpull::crying::suicide:

at least you guys have a cool logo to distract you... ours.. not so much

I mean, that's pretty creative right there, one of my favs:

and then the Capitals' symbol... Three stars and an L made to look like a hockey stick... what the hell:

I agree. I love our logo and unis and I think our team name is one of the best in all of sports but that's small consolation for the fact that we have been a league member since 19-fucking-67 and have yet to win a Cup!!!

no offense taken, was just sayin.

Glad to hear that and duly noted. Thanks.

One pretty goal!

That is spectacular. Dude is amazing. Wish he played for us.

Not as flashy but check out this OT game winner from the Blues-Ducks game on Saturday. Note how Sobotka waits not only for Stewart to catch up to the play but also for both defensemen to go to the ice before passing the puck. Then, Stewart waits for Hiller to commit to the glove side and he just slides across the front of the crease and backhands it top-shelf into the empty net. A thing of beauty if you're a Blues fan!
