Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Well I'll break the ice, the Blackhawks are crazy good!!! but I still say they are UNFUCKINBELIEVABLY LUCKY!!! that's twice now Detroit should have squashed that doughnut, they play great in Chicago and even better here in Detroit and still lost in extra time. I can't say for certain if that was definitely a penalty @ 2:25 of the 3rd period it was just too close to call, whatever, it doesn't matter now. it happened and the Blackhawks LUCK carries them on again, don't get me wrong, they are a great team, I'd love if Detroit had that kind of start I'd be giddy as well, but c'mon that was a lucky break for Chicago and they capitalized on there opportunity. :brick:

It was another one of those LA games where Detroit certainly deserved to win, but LUCK just has not been on there side thus far this season. with that said, it was a great game! Detroit played great, if they played like that every game this season, they'd be contending with Chicago for the lead in the Division, but, transition, injuries, inexperience, and very poorly played games have certainly plagued them this year. It is definitely frustrating to not be as effective as they demonstrated they can play today. great game, Chicago is REAL GOOD, but still really lucky. :2 cents:

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Why do I get a feeling that the Blackhawks will lose in the first round of the playoffs, maybe even a sweep.

You might be right, things have just come to easy and they haven't faced any real adversity yet, I mean a couple of injuries to key guys but not anything that's major so far, Hossa went down, Crawford was out, bolland has been out, but what if they lose toews, kane, sharp, or seabrook, hossa, Crawford for an extended period of time? I don't know, I would defend my Red Wings if they had this kind of start, but we'll see, anything can happen between now and the playoffs.

I don't know if Chicago would have this kind of streak if they were playing all of the EASTERN conference competition there would be in a regular un-shortened season? Boston, Montreal, Pittsburgh, Philly, NY, NJ, I mean its not the Blackhawks fault they are in such an incredible streak, but would they be undefeated this late in the season if they were playing the teams from the east? not to mention the competition but the added travel, I don't think they could have done it this long if they were playing everybody like they would in a normal NHL season. I hate the Blackhawks only because I am a Red Wings die hard, but I like the Blackhawks when the Red Wings are not in contention any longer, I've always liked Chicago, but I hate them! if anybody can figure that one out, then maybe you could explain it to me so I can understand it. lol.

Man. These late game penalties are killing me. First we hand the game to L.A, and then we let Chicago right back in it. I would have loved to have Detroit end the streak. Ah well. Great teams will capitalize on your fuckups.

I hope the Blackhawks can win like this in the playoffs, this has been a great short season but fingers are crossed, undefeated after 22 straight is fantastic but makes me nervous at the same time, could be too much too soon?

We'll I've never liked them and I do despise them so I don't understand your feelings at all but I will say this much.....watching them as much as I have this season I think I can dare to say that the Blackhawks are, right here and right now, perhaps the greatest complete hockey team I have ever seen. Now that Crawford and Emery are playing lights-out, there is not a weakness on the team in any fashion. Their ability and agility and passing skill, especially in the offensive zone, is a thing of awe. They cycle the puck constantly with endless movement at all positions. I don't know how many times I have seen them at work in the offensive zone at even strength when it literally appears that they are on the power play. Their defensemen are rarely caught out of position and their ability to keep away from odd-man rushes and the ferocious back-checking by the forwards usually mean it's 1-and-out for any attempt to infiltrate their zone and maintain any sort of pressure. I think Coach Q finally has all of the pieces to his puzzle and every guy fits perfectly into his system. Some are calling their streak lucky but I say a really good team like them makes their own luck. I tip my hat to them....right now, they look invincible. Blackhawk fans everywhere should cherish every minute of this cuz stuff like this is magic and ain't likely to happen again anytime soon.

Meanwhile, the Blues continue their endless quest for mediocrity. It's hard to win when you can't score and your goaltending sucks. What a difference a year makes. :hairpull:

Seattle and Kansas City would fill out the west nicely.

I don't begrudge Seattle a shot at an NHL team but KC had their chance back in the 70s with the Scouts (now the Devils) and they couldn't keep it afloat. In the meantime, the 4th largest city in the US has never had a team (that's Houston for those who were unaware) so I'd sure like to see some sort of an effort to bring a franchise here. Then again, I kinda like having an AHL team here instead ($35 for center ice seats lower bowl) but the Aeros' lease expires this year and rumor has it they are moving to Des Moines if no alternative arena is made available. If that happens and there is NO HOCKEY in Houston, I'll NEVER be a Stars fan, continue to suffer a lifetime curse of loving the Blues with no hope for redemption it would appear. Oh woe is me, oh woe is me!! :brick:

I agree with most of what you said, I still contend that LUCK has played a huge role in this streak, sure they capitalize on mistakes, there very sound in all the zones, they are a great team, but like I said, if they were playing a full NHL schedule against the EAST and WEST from the start of the season, I don't think this streak exists!!

I HATE them, but I respect them, I like the way they play, I like the teams toughness in years past when Detroit and Chicago use to be a fight fest as well as a hockey game. I don't know if I consider "like" and "respect" them as the same, when they play the Wings there's no doubt as to who I'm routing for. Do I want Chicago's streak to end Hell Yeah!! its fun too watch, but I most definitely want them to lose. lol.

And I think I like and respect Chicago allot is they used grab allot of former Red Wings, ie. Probert, Lapointe, Hossa... etc.. and MY favorite Chicago players are not exactly whom most real Black Hawks fans would like the most, I like Crawford, Shaw, Bolland, Hossa, Seabrook, but I have to say my FAVORITE Blackhawk right now is Daniel Carcillo go figure right!! lol. I just like the dude, I like his game, I love the way he plays, since he came into the league I've been a Carcillo fan, in Phoenix, Philly, and now Chi-town as a Blackhawk..

I have a Blackhawk sweater and I think I am finally gonna put a Name & # on the back (Carcillo's) I wanted the original six sweaters so I got Red Wings, Black Hawks, Maple Leafs, Canadians, and @ the time I got NJ cuz of the Devil horns etc.. I never got NY's sweater cuz I never did like them, so I really just want and need a Bruins sweater to complete MY original six minus the rangers on purpose! lol.

I don't know whats up with the Blues, I have a healthy respect for them as well, I am glad they were doing so well last year, I was actually rooting for them last year. this year? I simply :dunno: what there deal is? did they let anybody go or trade anybody from there main core? is anybody injured? they are really struggling huh!!

You can certainly speculate all you want and of course luck has something to do with the streak....it has something to do with damned-near everything from my vantage point. The fact of the matter is that we are just about halfway through this truncated season and these fuckers are yet to lose in regulation....fucking amazing anyway you slice it.

As far as the Blues go....well, where do I start? First, their #1 tandem of goaltenders (Halak & Elliott) suddenly discovered the meaning of the term "soft goal" and both of them have save percentages less than 90%. Then, their awesome "defense first" style got pushed into the back seat when we were scoring 4 and 5 goals a game early on. Then, Steen, McDonald and Tarasenko all end up on the injured list, now we can't score goals against anyone and we can't stop anyone from scoring goals against us. We played a horrible game against the Stars yesterday as the first game in a 5 game roadtrip that I predict will end with the Blues out of contention for a playoff spot. It will be tough to dig our way back into it with so many teams huddled so few points apart in the West.

Oh yes it is amazing, amazing luck.. lol.. yes they are great, the team is great in all zones they don't seem to have any glaring weaknesses that anybody can see thus far.. incredible feat this streak is, yes, quite amazing!! but until they win the Stanley Cup, IMO, they can't be considered one of the greatest teams ever, not just yet. Philly had a 35 game streak back in the day. and Detroit had a season where they went 62–13–7 in 95-96 won the presidents trophy that year and then lost in the WCF to the AV's in 6 games. that was a great team but in reality they didn't win shit!!!

This years Chicago Black Hawks will be judged by there playoff success, if they win Lord Stanley's Chalice then they can be considered one of the greatest teams ever. but anything less is just a great team that didn't win shit! they have an awesome streak running will it get too 35 games? if it does then my :hatsoff: too them, that punctuates that their indeed a great team, if they don't get the all-time unbeaten streak its all gravy still a great team, and a great run. but until they win in the finals its just conjecture @ this point and time whether they are one of the greatest team ever. :2 cents:

If you live in Texas how did you become a Die hard Blues fan? just wondering. I'd figure you'd love the STARS? :dunno: as far as all those problems, injuries certainly do play a role in how a season rolls down. sure coaches don't like to use injuries as a an excuse, they expect the team and other guys to pick up the slack, fill in the missing link, its almost impossible to replace an all-star or key guy in your line-up when he carries the team in one way or another, if somebody or the team picks up the slack that's great. but teams do miss there KEY guys no matter what anybody says. the Blues are rocked by injuries just like my Red Wings and with Lidstrom's retirement and Stuart's moving on our defense is mending and trying to fill 2 huge voids from last years team. the Blues have missed there guys, I don't know what exactly made them stray from there defensive minded game, but its certainly showing. now that you mentioned all of the reasons, it now depends on when they rededicate themselves and stress to themselves to perform like they did last year. :yoda:

As far I'm concerned, it's Stanley Cup or bust for the Blackhawks. With the start they're having, how could you say the season was a success if they didn't win the cup? Because the streak will absolutely nothing if they don't win the cup :2 cents:

Exactly!! that's the way I was thinking in 95-96 and every other year the Red Wings were the President Trophy winners or one of the top 3 or 4 teams that had a legitimate chance of Winning Lord Stanley's Cup. :2 cents:

I grew up in St. Louis, fuck the Stars. Dumbest bandwagon hockey fans you'll ever see. I went to a Stars game in Dallas once and the woman sitting in front of me asked me what offsides was. When I told her that it was when the attacking team had a player precede the puck across their opponent's blue line, she asked me "which one is the blue line?". Despite my impulse to laugh in her face, I did my best to educate a novice and I told her. She just looked puzzled and asked "Why do they call it the blue line when there are 2 of them?". They should all stick to football.

As far I'm concerned, it's Stanley Cup or bust for the Blackhawks. With the start they're having, how could you say the season was a success if they didn't win the cup? Because the streak will absolutely nothing if they don't win the cup :2 cents:

I'm sure that the specter of having such an outstanding season followed by elimination from Stanley Cup contention has got to be in the back of the mind of every Blackhawk fan there is right now. That said, they sure are having fun right now! I'd enjoy it while I can if I were them (which I ain't and I'm damn glad of it. Just the thought of having a ridiculous song like "Chelsea Dagger" played after my team scored a goal is enough to make my skin crawl!!!)

I was at the game against the Sharks when they broke the record for most consecutive games with a point and the atmosphere was incredible. They dont call the United Center the Madhouse on Madison for nothing

I have no doubt that is the truth. That must have been a wild night indeed. I am old enough to remember when the Hawks played at the old Chicago Stadium (the original "Madhouse on Madison") and that place was fucking crazy and held considerably fewer fans than the United Center does. Chicago loves its sports teams in a very passionate manner and I totally respect that. Detroit is the same way. The Blues fans in St. Louis are just as rabid but they simply don't have enough glory in their history to compare. Sad but true.

I can't stand hearing the song they play when the Rangers score at home. The repetitive 3 note "Wohhhhh...". I've heard the song by itself on youtube, so now I know it's followed by "Let's go Rangers". Didn't know that because the announcers are usually talking during it. It sounds really awful during the games because all you can hear is the "wohhhh".

But, the answer to both of our peeves is the fact that we would surely love it if it meant our teams scored. That's why I like hearing "Chelsea Dagger". I probably wouldn't like the song otherwise, because of the bouncy repetitiveness (of course it has to be repetitive for a large crowd) and I would hate it if it was someone else's team's celebratory song.

Ok, now I want to talk about something else for a moment.
I've been looking over the schedule for NBC Sports Net's so-called "Wednesday Night Rivalry".
Can anyone pick the actual rivalries out of this schedule?

1/23 Boston vs NY Rangers
1/30 Chicago vs Minnesota
2/6 Boston vs Montreal
2/13 St. Louis vs Detroit
2/20 Philadelphia vs Pittsburgh
2/27 Washington vs Philadelphia
3/6 Colorado vs Chicago
3/13 Philadelphia vs New Jersey
3/20 Minnesota vs Detroit
3/27 Montreal vs Boston
4/3 Pittsburgh vs NY Rangers
4/10 Boston vs New Jersey
4/17 Buffalo vs Boston
4/24 Los Angeles vs Detroit

They could've done a better job with this. A few of these are real rivalries, but I can't where's Chicago vs Detroit or Vancouver?

Well the Hawks more or less creamed the Wild tonight. They really only needed one period and that was it.

Suter summed up the Wild's play afterword on FSN: "We've been consistently inconsistent."

First, their #1 tandem of goaltenders (Halak & Elliott) suddenly discovered the meaning of the term "soft goal" and both of them have save percentages less than 90%.

should have kept bishop instead of trading him to ottawa!

it's actually GOALLLLLLL....GOALLLLLLLL....GOALLLLLLL... hey hey hey hey hey ...let's go rangers! i'm a devils fan and i hate that stupid chant.

1/23 Boston vs NY Rangers- a friend told me it's like a natural rivaly like yankees-boston! what?
1/30 Chicago vs Minnesota
2/6 Boston vs Montreal- original six rivalry
2/13 St. Louis vs Detroit
2/20 Philadelphia vs Pittsburgh- inter state rivalry
2/27 Washington vs Philadelphia- former division rivals?
3/6 Colorado vs Chicago
3/13 Philadelphia vs New Jersey- turnpike rivalry
3/20 Minnesota vs Detroit
3/27 Montreal vs Boston
4/3 Pittsburgh vs NY Rangers- division rivals
4/10 Boston vs New Jersey- not really a rivalry in my eyes as a NJD fan!??!
4/17 Buffalo vs Boston
4/24 Los Angeles vs Detroit
