who did tampa bay gm bring in that made them better?

Guy Boucher mainly. player wise, Roloson, Brewer, Kubina, and others. Yzerman is the reason this team went from 34-36-12 last year to 46-25-11 this year.

but on a much more aggravating note:

once again, the goal scoring fails Roloson. abysmal, Tampa Bay.

Roloson made 50 saves and we lose. how the fuck does that happen, Tampa? Stamkos might as well sit because he does nothing.

What in the blue bloody miserable fucking hell? You just knew the NY/Wash game was going to end with a garbage goal like that. Such a good game too and Lundqvist caught a gem...and then Gaborik...

I dunno. I think that game ended as it should. Many call that a garbage goal, but they've been doing that all year. Hard to argue with their record.

First two periods: NY
Third period: Wash
OT1: Wash
OT2: NY

It was a damn fine game and what irks me mostly is the gem Lundqvist played and for it to end that way. Wash should've won that game in the 1st OT they outplayed them so much.

Likely, but it ended as it should, so stop bitching, or I'm going to have to beat you.

:D

2 games with 2 OT tonight. Pretty sweet. Buffalo squeaks by. Anaheim demolishes Nashville. Detroit and Phoenix tied. Fun night in hockey.

I'll update my standings shit tomorrow. Y'all know WTF is going on anyway.

Well as a fan of the game (with no real horse in this race) I generally like to see drawn-out series', and with that defeat it retards the likelihood of that end. Same with the Yotes/Wings and of course the Ning Dynasty/Pens series. If nothing else I would like to see a game 6 back at MSG.

tampa bay brought those players this year?

hopefully the ducks keep the goals like that without hiller they will need it.

both OT goals were awful but its playoffs. it all counts.

have a feeling theres going to be a 3rd OT.

yes. Yzerman also got rid of Meszaros and Matt Walkers' awful contracts (each at least 4 years and multi million dollar deals for players who drastically underperformed). oh, and he brought us Simon Gagne.

improved tampa bay for sure.

thought kubina was in tampa last season or the season before that.

i was just thinking tampa bays core was set for seasons now.

Yzerman is a class act; my favorite player from my favorite team. I'm glad he's going off and getting his own career post player years off the ground. I also hope he wins GM of the year.

I'm still jealous that Tampa gets his talents. But I hope he has tons of success.:hybrid:

Yzerman's aiight. He wouldn't sign for me when he was in town still suiting up for Detroit. Even told Shannahan something like "come on Shans, we gotta go," when he was about to sign. I understand it was before the game and all but I wasn't the happiest about it. I generally withhold comment about a person until I see repetitive a-holeness, so that's all I can really say at least about that day. It's happened to me before many times with quite an ecletic bunch or athletes and musicians. The nice thing about the NHL is that by far they have the most fan friendly athletes. Met many cool players since the NHL came back to town.

Anyways, the Coyotes played their asses off. I feel for the fans, all of who didn't boo or anything like that. It was a lot closer than 6-3.

What a dissapointing showing from Phoenix. Cue all the sad, pathetic Winnipeg fans...

Roloson was great for the most part of the game , but he was awful for the first and last pittsburgh goals. I can't believe he let the last one in. That was one of the worst goals I have seen in the playoffs.

I'm so horny, even the crack of dawn isn't safe
Get the brooms out. Now maybe Blackhawks can wear down Nucks a little more while my boys rest. Fear the Winged Wheel. 13 different players scored for them in the Sweep. They rest, you bruise, good luck with that.

Stevie Y for G.M of the year!!

he had to have been exhausted to have let the last one in. the guy needs goal support and he's not getting it save for game 2.

They played hard that's for sure; are they really moving to a new city? It seems weird to me to move a team from its' home when it's making playoff appearances.

As a Detroit Lions fan I can only imagine how weird it would be for the fans. However I don't know about the hockey market out there either.

Sorry about the lack of signing from Stevie Y. Glad you're willing to give him another chance; I always found him in his interviews and things to be overly shy. I think he had a problem with press and the spotlight in general for a while.

However no excuse not to stop and sign; but maybe that's why he made a poor choice at that moment.

He did come off sort of anti-social. That said, for some people just being shy can lead to unwarranted assumptions like that. I think like you said he is just more of a private person, and I don't have beef with that since I am sort of the same way.

That Detroit team was loaded that year and all the years surrounding it. I think it was his last year. I got a bunch of autos that year because my cous' and I went down before all the games. A lot of the Detroit players signed. I can tell you when and where to meet all of the players when they come to town. I got Gretzky's auto on my authentic black Kings jersey that year. Only four of the couple dozen or so of us there got his auto and I was the last. Nicest signature I've ever seen. Gretzky was also a little off-puting but he was coach of the Coyotes that time and you can only imagine that is probably one of the most sought after sigs out there (next to Woods, Jordan, Nicklaus, Ali, Aaron, etc..) so a legend like him probably gets sick of the shit.
