My Penguins just acquired Alex Kovalev (for a second tour of duty) from Ottawa for a conditional 7th round pick! Crosby and Malkin....who needs them!?!? We have James Neal and Alex Kovalev! Stanley Cup here we come!!! Ha ha ha!
Seriously though, at least we got a little boost to our offense with Malkin gone for the year and Crosby out for God only knows how long!

Sorry to be crass, but I'm tired of the pamering pro athletes are getting nowadays on account of concusions. Serisouly, I had at least two that I can remember and I got my ass right back out there the next day on those two accounts.
I guess me having to deal with Morneau for so long acting like a female has just gotten to me, as has the pussies pushing the pampering. I mean, if Aaron Rogers damn near had like 2 in a few weeks and he was back out there, an MLB superstar like Morneau and then of course Crosby. Sorry. I ain't with it.
I understand the long term issues, but I like the old days when men acted like men. :2 cents:

And have Bettman loose his meal ticket? They will keep him off the ice until the playoffs.
I would agree to some extent. All of this pampering everyone who gets a concussion. Hell, in football and hockey...concussions kind of come with the territory! This crap of keeping everyone off the field/ice indefinitely kind of gets ridiculous! If you don't want to get a concussion &/or play through one...here's a suggestion: Don't play football or hockey!

I don't think they want a situation like developed with the Lindros brothers where Brett had his career cut short severely due to concussions...and Eric (the better of the two) had his career shortened due to concussions. Definitely crazy, and making for an interesting playoff strech now. And those Ottawa turd wagons are a mistery. Also surprised to see the Wild there in the mix. Todd Richards is awesome; Minnesota boy, coaching the team to success...I think this might work. Look out for this team and of course, playoffs are anyone's game.

Sorry, but some guy who posts on an NHL message board and isn't the NHL's meal ticket should get back out there right away after a concussion.
Sidney Crosby, however, is another story; he's the face of the NHL. He pays salaries. He puts asses in the seats. For every guy who "toughed it out" and played through a concussion like a "real man" there are guys like Eric Lindros and Pat LaFontaine who (especially in the case of Lindros) could've gone down as some of the best to ever play the game but didn't because concussions (and their premature returns to the ice) completely altered their careers. I wouldn't be surprised to see Crosby sit the rest of the season and the playoffs. He is too important to the NHL to risk having him come back prematurely. It's not about being a "real man," it's about the business. The Penguins, the NHL, and Crosby himself would have to be utter fools to allow him to return prematurely.
