So who is in the next winter classic?

Actually, I like Plasma's idea of the NY/NY challenge. That would be awesome.
You'd think that would be the top of their list, but because they decided to wait, Yankee Stadium went and signed a contract for football, so they're all booked up for the next few years. All they have left in the New York area is New Meadowlands, but if they held it there the Islanders wouldn't be involved. It would be Rangers/Devils, which wouldn't be bad if the Devils didn't make Toronto look like they have a NHL team.
The Lightning game made me sick last night it piss me off that we lost we could have been 3 points ahead of the caps 5 points ahead of Thrashers and tied for first place in the east that was a big lose I be at the Caps game on Wednesday I hope we can another good game against them
Minnesota is the most productive hockey area in America, so maybe they don't feel the need to turn them on. Of course everyone in Canada and their mom plays, do I assume that's why they're avoiding that market.
I suppose they could do a warm climate winter classic like they did outdoors in Las Vegas and the Kings with Gretz' but I am honestly running out of ideas. The MAIN THING for me is that they change the teams and venue every year. I mean for fuck's sake, it doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. :2 cents:

There is another Heritage Classic this year; it's in Calgary against Montreal. It's February 22nd at McMahon Stadium.
Just so you all know (because it seems like none of you do), the first outdoor game in the NHL was actually in Edmonton back in 2003. I was there. It was amazing. They played an alumni game between Edmonton and Montreal greats. Some of the players who participated: Wayne Gretzky, Guy Lafleur, Glenn Anderson, Larry Robinson, Jari Kurri, Paul Coffey, Mark Messier (who shovelled snow off the ice at the intermission, which brought tears to my eyes), and Bill Ranford and Grant Fuhr (who were both incredible in net).

I guess they haven't promoted it at all in the US (typical) and I don't know if there will be an alumni game, but here in Canada it will be a night to remember, I'm sure.

nope. the first outdoor game took place in 1991 between the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings in the parking lot of Ceasar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Actually, yep. Not nope.
The game you're referring to was an exhibition game. If you look up first outdoor NHL game in the Guinness Book of World Records it refers to the Edmonton game. Exhibition games do not count. This is not my opinion, it is the convention.
