I don't think there is ever going to be another Bourque. Even if you hated the Avalanche, you wanted them to win just for him.

Zetterberg is on fire this game. Coyotes haven't done a good job in keeping his line in check and it is costing them big time.

Love Bourque and the Bruins, my 2nd favorite team. Did not like the Av's with our incredible rivalry back then winning in 2001, but Ray was a great show with the cup!

Scott is right though, Detroit is the one team I definitely didn't want to be in the playoffs. They always seem to spark a flame up their asses when its the postseason.

Fuck, that was a game. Can't wait for game three. Unlike Scott, I don't think this loss means the Coyotes are done. They've still got a fight in them, I think. Even if the Wings win the next three, it sure as hell isn't going to be easy. The Dogs need to put more pressure on Zetterberg and his line; they were fucking deadly tonight!

I'm not even that upset the Coyotes lost; they made the Wings earn that victory. Right now I'm more upset that the Pittsburgh Crosbys beat the Senators. Fuuuuuuck.

Of course no one wanted to play the Wings. They are a great team, but someone has to. I wasn't happy the Wings squeezed their way into fifth, but the West is so even; it is definitely not a "Wings will dominate everyone" situation as it was last year.

But they didn't dominate everyone last year, the "Pittsburgh Crosbys" came out on top. :thumbsup: Remember? I still think they have the potential to make it moderately deep into the playoffs, I don't think they will make it to the Cup though.

Phoenix will likely not win. The "whiteout" didn't even get the job done. Hell, I thought I was watching a game at Joe Louis with all the cheers after Wings' goals. Not to mention the squid...

That's why everyone says they are the underdogs. It's going to be an uphill battle, for sure. But the whiteout got it done in game one.

We actually need to accept the fact that while in the playoffs all records are set back to 0 wins and 0 loses. It all comes down to who wants it the most. Thats personally how I feel about the NHL postseason, and thats why I never make predictions on who I think will win the Stanley Cup, or who will beat who. Anything can happen.

Except Washington winning the Stanley Cup, that won't happen. They always blow it in the postseason. :rofl:

Look at the stats for the Avs/Sharks game. The shots are so lopsided for the Sharks, and yet Nabokov just ruins any chance the Sharks have to win. Christ. I'm starting to feel like an idiot for picking the Sharks.

I'm not impressed with the Blackhawks at all. They stumbled after the Olympic break, their goaltending has always been an issue and their D needs to get better. Put those probs in playoff hockey and I really don't see them going far at all.

Whats great about Phoenix is that they really don't have a big name dangler. They got 3 solid lines and Defensmen that can score. That causes matchup problems for anybody. Washington is deep like that too and obviously they got #8 who's a dangler.
