On what difficulty are you playing ? That could you be your problem . Goalies suck when you play on difficulty level lower than All-star . I always play my games on Superstar and the goalies are good .

i have it on pro cause i was just starting out i restarted the whole process again. and i actually have figured out how to change the offensive and defensive strategies so that helped also. the scoring is down since that post.
but i will try the All=Star level
