Newly released Commodore 64. Yes, you read that correctly.

It's back... and better than ever! The new Commodore 64 is a modern functional PC as close to the original in design as humanly possible. It houses a modern mini-ITX PC motherboard which comes in two configurations. The C64x Ultimate (C64x-UL) has a Dual Core 525 Atom processor and the an nVidia ION2 graphics chipset, and our flagship model, the C64x Extreme (C64x-EX) which comes with a second generation Intel Sandybridge Core i7 capable of reaching speeds of 3.3Ghz. The new Commodore 64 comes in the original's taupe brown/beige color, with other colors to follow.

The new Commodore 64 features genuine Cherry brand key switches, which provide a feel much better than the original, with a lovely IBM classic mechanism and click sound. The keys are the exact same shape as the original and are color matched. No expense has been spared. This is the ultimate hackers keyboard on which to wield your key-fu.

The new Commodore 64 also features a slot or tray load R/W DVD drive on the left side of the unit. The C64x Ultimate comes with 4Gb of DDR2 memory and the C64x Extreme comes with 8Gb of DDR3 memory.

A multi format card reader/writer and a USB slot are provided on the right side of the unit. There are an additional USB slots on the rear of the unit for all your peripheral needs. (Please see specs for each model)

The classic power light is now the power button.

lame

I think it's kinda cool, actually, both in appearance and functionality. Heck, I'm interested just for the mechanical-switch keyboard. These membrane/dome switch keyboards that they use nowadays don't have nearly the satisfying (and useful) *click* that the old Commodore keyboards had.

Alright!! Zork in upgrade status!!

Mental,

What a stupid time to even ***** of doing this now. The PC market is in decline, and this is marketted as neither PC nor console. This is just ridiculous, as at most its just a PC with commodore branding. Hell I had one of those things, NONE of the games would ever work. What a waste of crap it was.

I loved my Commodore 64. It got me through postings in Germany, Ft. Bliss and Korea. The soldiers best friend when he was broke. My favorite game at the time was "Red Storm Rising", where I commanded a Seawolf-class submarine. And I was good. I was real good.

They were so back-ordered last year when I was going to buy one that I just gave up. I would like to have one. Maybe this year, if nothing comes out of left field to **** me. lol

Let me know when they release the commodore 128, hardcore gamer, oh yeah!

Also, the games on that thing were amazing!

They haven't done the 128, yet, but there are a couple other models there.

The Commodore 128 was the biggest marketing failure ever. That thing could have kicked the **** out of anything else on the market at the time. They just had stupid marketers.

interesting.... considering I have emulators for the Commodore64, Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, PS1, PS2, and MAME32, all on my PC. I can play any game I want. Except Killer Instinct Arcade version.... that fucking game is soooo hard to find :/
