New Desktop

If you have money, and you don't need specialized software, I would honestly suggest getting a mac.

But like 24788 said, we need to know what you are going to use it for.

Net surfing, photo downloads, latest gaming software . I'd want a dual core processor for speed and the fastest computer for downloads along with reliability.

The latest games can mean anything. Some games require a high fps. While others don't require much at all. If you have the money, check out some of the Alienware gear. They will help you customize a perfect machine. They are very overpriced though. I wouldn't recommend building your own machine from scratch though, unless you have someone qualified to help you out. Photo downloads and net surfing don't require to much. You Might need storage though. I would recommend an external hard drive for this. So it doesn't affect your computer when you game.

Thank you.

I'd go with quad core for so in the future you just have to update your graphics to play later games.

Personally, I'd agree and disagree with 24788. Alienwares are way too expensive for something that won't be able to play the best games in just a year. You can buy something high end better in most retail outlets. You're paying for the leds and case more than the system.

Or if you have any pc repair shops (not major chains like Geek Squad though) you can see if they build systems there. Then you could probably get something customized and comparable to Alienware systems for much cheaper.

True, customized machines with a clear case are sick looking and are easier to upgrade if you know what your doing. I'd do some research though on what games your playing and new games coming out.

I dunno about desktops. I had one and was fine with it. I have a laptop now and I really can't see myself going back to a desktop.
