Desktop Recommendations

I see no reason why my super small penis is involved in this matter in any way.

I was just wondering why someone would buy a desktop computer when it is much nicer to browse the tablet computer.

Desktop computer: you have to sit on a chair while you browse it

Tablet computer: You can comfortably lie in bed and browse it

You're alright, assari.

Have you ever tried to do anything besides surfing the internet (for porn, particularly) while lying in bed? Not conducive to getting much done (besides rubbing one out :rubbel: ).

Hey X, I bought an Alienware Aurora. I waited and waited until I saw a good enough sale. I picked it up on Cyber Monday last year and saved a good amount. I purchased directly from Dell.

 I'm a notorious penny pincher. One time I waited six months to save $5 on a $25 dollar steel briefcase at Love's truck stop because I'm not gonna get took! ("Don't get took!", is the slogan for a local business that used to advertise profusely on the local ABC affiliate. lol)

If you purchase a computer because you plan to convert old photos into digital photos then you should buy a desktop computer and a good printing machine.

A good choice:

That sounds fancy. I'ma look it up. I totally judge a book by its cover.

I ended up building my own computer for the first time a few years ago. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, and now that I've done it I doubt I will ever buy another pre-made computer again in my life. About the only sucky part about it is You Miss out on any pre-installed free software, so you have to buy the operating system and things like word processors separately. That can add up in price, but all the other advantages of building your own computer far outweigh that in my opinion. As long as you make sure all components are compatible, and there are websites that help you out on that, you can select and buy all components just how you like, and you can usually get a lot more performance for cheaper, often much cheaper. Even adding in water cooling wasn't that hard for me. I also spent a little more for a large well made case that baring the manufacturers drastically changing the sizing formats they make their motherboards will probably last just about forever and will be used when I build my next computer.

I've read the specs and reviews on various desktop computers, but now I'm reaching out and looking for user recommendations for my next PC purchase. I might step up to Apple some day, but not today, and HP may as well be Apple because I've just got an inherent bias against HP, but I don't know why, I've owned HP's before and they're as good as anything else. I'm currently in Dell products, which I like a lot, but I'm needing another machine for a different dedicated task and can't decide if I should stick with Dell or try an Asus or Lenovo (which I know, used to be IBM before being purchased by The Chinese). Only interested in recommendations of equipment that you've actually owned and used for more than a year, not a pie-in-the-sky recommendation like what Alienware used to be. Thanks in advance!

I have a HP elitebook 8460p from 2007 which is a good and very reliable laptop running on windows 7. Not much fan of the Dell hardware, used to work with dell desktops and laptops but found their performance not much enamoring or mindblowing. Asus would be my recommandation because they make great quality laptops. Quality of IBM decreased after the purchase of Lenovo. Personnally my choice would be this HP EliteBook 850 G3 - 15,6" FHD i7 8Go 512Go SSD https://store.hp.com/FranceStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=T9X71EA&opt=ABF&sel=NTB I stick to windows 7 because as Adam said Windows 8.1 is horrible and fro mseveral feedback I have heard Windows 10 is absolute crap and a terrible resource hog.

I went and checked out new monitors a couple of days ago because with the money I saved buying my buddies used Dell I don't feel like I'm getting took by sinking some cash into a new screen. LG's got a super-wide screen that the sales babe said was way more efficient than a twin monitor setup, and it clocked in around the same cost as the computer I just bought. Seriously thinking about taking the plunge and buying a new monitor, but there are a lot of attractive options I've seen online, and there's a 32" smart tv that I've thought about buying that clocks in around the same price point. The Dell 9020 is fantastic, fast as hell, handles all the progs I throws at it without blinking an eye.
