The question is: Will his attitude toward his game change? That is what needs to happen first. Magic Johnson mentioned this in his own life after the Lakers loss in 1984. LBJ still doesn't think it's him. You listen to his post game comments and all indications point to he won't. He honestly does not understand this concept whatsoever.
This 'I'm still better than you, so na-na-na-na-naaaaa...' quote tells you all you need to know. His loser, petulent, defeatist attitude hasn't changed with his new surroundings. I said this in a much earlier post, but honestly ask yourself: In 8 years, how much has LBJ changed on and off the court???
Very little.
We keep waiting for him to take himself and his game to the next level, but it hasn't happened. We've been waiting for this Kobe/Jordan-like evolution, but after 8 years in the league, when? The answer is: Never. If he can't grow up; if he can't mature within, it will not happen without. How can someone on top of the NBA act like as if he is just content with playing in the NBA??? NBA's version of Tom Hanks in 'Big'... LeBron James.
I nearly forget how long Lebron has been around because of his age(26?) and you have pointed out something(haven't seen game 6 post game interview) I did notice after game 2,3 or 5 and a reporter questioned him about him 'shrinking' in the 4th quarter.
Lebrons answer about his 'shrinking' was basically, check my stats and check the film "I did my job" instead of saying whatever I did it wasn't/isn't good enough to win and I need to do whatever it takes to win this series.
I think that's what you want to hear and not the defeatist "I did my job" right ? So I am beginning to understand you and see myself for the Lebron apologist I am:o:
I even tried to explain Lebrons game 6 post game comments and attempted not to view it as "I have a better life than you" . I was at work saying that he meant that ' it's just a game and I am sure you have more pressing issues in your own life than worrying about whether Lebron James wins a BBall game or not:dunno:
That's what I tried to take from his comments.
Like I have said before though Lebron and Dwayne are basically redundant talents and don't seem to compliment one another all that well. Lebron is capable of being a handful in the low post at times instead of hanging around the 3 pt line watching Wade work and vice versa. He needs to work the post occasionally so he and Wade can work a two man game on offense.
When superstars with similiar skillset get together someone has to change his game. Kobe did this in the Olympics since he was playing with 2 ball dominant swing men(Lebron and Wade) and Kobe really struggled early on to become more of a Spot up shooter for the first time in his basketball career to allow DWade and Lebron have the rock.
People were trashing Nowitski a few years back ,but we see how quickly things can change. The guy is only 26 ,but I am beginning to believe he is a great player ,but doesn't have that extra something in his belly like a Kobe.
