I don't like the fact Jim is starting to take control of this team. He's the reason Bynum was never traded and he's now the reason Brown will be coaching the Lakers. I dunno. as a lifelong lakers fan im hearing that lakerland is not happy overwhelmingly. im not too thrilled either. But if he learns how to win in the playoffs that will be undone easily. just hope he doesnt choke his seasons away to lower seeded teams like he did in Cleveland the last 2 seasons

Fredette can score on college chumps. That's all he's proven. You honestly think his small ass is going to turn the league on its head? You keep dreaming. I'm not saying he'll be a bust, I like his offensive game, but you also have to defend one on one. I can't see him defending any of the elite, or top guards in the NBA, let alone bigger guys who would just back him down all game long, but I can see a lot of guards guarding him no problem. You sure are expecting a lot from him so soon. Weren't you mad at people for hyping Lebron?
And Turkoglu is better than mediocre IMO, just not worth his contract...but who is? He plays the 1-4. Can shoot, decent defender, he's got a good handle, and can dish it. He gave L.A fits in the Finals.

As far as Fredette, if he's even remotely like the last guy who was white, Mormon, and came out of BYU, he will be a HOFer.
That guy just happened to crush the NBA all time assists record. Everyone is writing him off saying he won't be shit in the league but the kid is just bananas the way he can shoot, but he will never be another Bird. There will never be another Bird.

And you are right, Turkoglu is a very solid journeyman player in the league. Any team would like to have him. He isn't a perennial all star but he gets the job done.
I honestly hope Fredette tears it up. I loved watching BYU play this year.
As for player comparisons, this may sound terrible, but I think white players tend to have a more fundamentally sound game. Look at Bird, Dirk, Love, Pistol Pete etc. Duncan had a very "white" game. Simple and effective. Black players possess the athleticism and flash. Has there ever been a white guy with Lebrons athleticism? Nope. It's two different styles, none better than the other. Flashy players will be compared to flashy players. Fundamental guys will be compared to other fundamental guys. As for why there is such different styles between race, who knows. I'm sure it goes as far back as slavery and how they were bred so to speak and their superior genes have just carried over. There is a freak athlete PG named LJ Rose (I think) coming out of highschool this year. Makes you wonder how close he is in the gene pool to Derrick Rose, if at all. Also, street ball may have something to do with it as well. It's a different game.
