It must be nice to be fans of competitive teams. I picked a really bad year to rekindle my love of the Raptors, it seems. Getting totally spanked by the Pistons.

OMG! ANOTHER RAPTORS FAN?! :nanner: I live in Montreal but I love the Raptors. Gotta show my Canadian pride! Too bad they stole Vancouver!

Larry Brown is available. I don't believe he's coached the Raptors yet....

Nowhere is it written in Toronto Sault Ste Marie that you can't have a second fav NBA team--(psst. Come aboard the Heat bandwagon shhhh.)

When the Celtics' Big 3 had their Championship season--they destroyed every team by 40 points every night (it seemed like that anyway...)

I'm hoping for the same kind of season with the Heat. I'd like to see big blowouts every night.

The Celtics this year are winning every game by about 5 points themselves. Yet they are 23-4. Blowouts are overrated, as long as you win, who gives a shit. What Miami can't do, which Boston can, is close out games. Cuz the two teams are about even really (just look at point differential), but Boston has the better record cuz they win the close ones.

:nono: I'll cheer Bosh on quiety from in the nosebleeds, but no way will I ever cheer for the Heat. I am not a bandwagon fan. The Raptors are my team and always will be.

Everyone loves the Raptors (except American players). Vancouver was never given a chance; they had poor ownership from day one and then the fans got punished for it. It isn't like Memphis is any better. I would say move them back to where they belong (because god knows Vancouver can support a franchise), but since there might be contraction in the next few years and the Grizzlies would probably be the first to go, then meh.

And they have great post play and an all world point guard. Two things Miami doesn't have. Garnett/Davis/Shaq/Oneal > Bosh and....Big Z? Joel Anthony? Boston doesn't even have Perkins back yet. That's scary.

You forgot Juwan Howard :1orglaugh

Exactly!!!

You can also add Lebron to that mix. I never understood why a 6'9" 260 forward wants to play on the perimeter so much. To his credit, he's good at it.... but still.... :dunno:

Shaq is a spot player at best. Big Baby is big inconsistent. Garnett is still solid though.

The Heat need Ben Wallace. Plain and simple.

Uh.... I don't know about that. Ben Wallace's strengths are defense and rebounding. Rebounding would be a good asset, but his offensive skills are atrocious. The Heat need post-up players who can score. Also, a true point guard would be nice too.

This Heat team will be fine though. Just give 'em some time.

^
Son, Kevin McHale ain't walking through that door. The last thing the Heat need is more offense. Does any low post player other than Tim Duncan have actual, real, low post moves? The Heat had a chance to sign Amare instead of Bosh and Amare ain't much of a defender (except for this season).

Ben Wallace would give the Heat the muscle to stop a Big Baby, Garnett, and all those players you previously posted about!!

The Heat might be the best defensive team in league already. Joel Anthony is a pretty good defender, I think he could hold his own. But Bosh, I worry about him.

Time will tell whether or not this team needs some extra help. Lets see how they play against the Lakers.

It should be interesting to see how the Heat play without Wade tonight. The last time Wade sat out in what was suppose to be a "cupcake game" they lost. Hopefully, this is not the case.

If anyone needs Ben Wallace, it's the Magic. It makes perfect sense.

Q has no role on this team with the acquisitions. I wouldn't be suprised if he was the one shipped out for our backup center.

Um. Did the ~MaGiC~ gel after, um, like 1 fucking game??

I don't like LeBron's comments about playing on Xmas and league contraction. I think he's right about contracting the league, but the timing is poor. He also makes too much money and has too much fame to give a fuck about Christmas. If he misses his "family" so much, fly them out to LA and hang out with them...

I wouldn't read too much into that one game. It was at home, and SA was on a back-to-back. But that did make 2 pretty good performances in a row, we had a real shot to beat the best team in the NBA (Dallas) prior to the Spurs game.

As for LeBron's comments, they were ill-advised. Sure, there's more teams. But with the foreign players and the popularity growth of basketball (and population in general), the talent pool is bigger. Plus, he fails to realize that Miami would be on the shortlist for teams to be contracted. They get no fans in possibly the worst sports city in America, and being a relatively new franchise with less history.

Anybody else going to just going sit around and watch some hoops all day like me? Watching my Bulls take on the Knicks right now at the Garden. Magic/Celtics is going to be a good game and the Lakers/Heat game is a must see.
