The Knicks are looking good aside from their recent mishap against the Rockets. I see them reaching the playoffs this year (a low seed but its still a start). If it hadn't been for the dreadful start in the beginning of the season they'd be, at or over, .500 (and in the East nowadays that's a guaranteed playoff berth...I know we're not even at the halfway point).

Glad to see the Eastern Conference rewards a .500 team like Toronto with a pretty decent playoff spot. :nanner:

Looks like Houston is actively pursuing a trade with the Toronto Raptors to try and acquire Chris Bosh.

Dear Houston,

Fuck you.

A Raptors fan

A shocker. Cleveland tanked it in order to try to win Lebron lottery. The Knicks ARE tanking it now to try to get him this summer?

Yikes.

Hmm. Looks like this might not be the year to have Gilbert Arenas on my fantasy team afterall. Maybe now's the perfect time to trade him

NBA CHAMPS to set out on a long 8 game east coast road trip later this week starting at the cavs must pay them back for x-mas day we should go 8-0 on this trip but 6-2 will be fine... 7-1 better!!!

The trade deadline approaches. What moves do you want to see your team make??

I've been hearing some trade rumblings from the Laker camp. They obviously need to upgrade their PG situation, and have supposedly contacted New Jersey regarding Devin Harris. He's had a disappointing season after his breakthrough a year ago and management isn't sold on him long term. They are committed to trying to get John Wall in the draft, and trading their starting PG will help the cause.

Also, I've heard the Lakers have contacted Toronto regarding Chris Bosh. :D They should offer Bynum and Adam Morrisons expiring contract to get that deal done. A 22 year old budding all-star center and cap space? They won't get a better offer from anyone else. But they are playing well lately and are in the thick of thing in the playoff hunt, so a trade might be unlikely. Although, I guarantee he won't stay in Toronto, so Colangelo is going to have some decisions to make.

Other rumours are...

Antawn Jamison to Cleveland for Ilgauskus.
Troy Murphy to Cleveland for Ilgauskus.

One of those will definitely happen. Cleveland is looking for a big man who can spread the floor and defend the 4-5 positions. Plus, the Cavs have to leave it all on the court this year or Lebron is bye bye. Washington wants to clear house and Indiana is under a youth movement and trying to build around Granger. Jeff Foster is also rumoured to be on the way out of Indiana. He's a great defender at the 4-5 and a team like the Suns/Spurs/Nuggets could use a guy like that against the Lakers.

The Pistons drafted 3 small forwards last year and are liking their development, which makes Tayshaun Prince expendable. Same with Rip Hamilton. They could both go to Houston in exchange for a young player and Tracy McGrady's $22 million expiring contract.

That's all for now. I'll fill ya'll in when I know more.

Go Lakers. Lets get Bosh!!!!!

STDiva's 1st half awards.

MVP - Kevin Durant. If he can keep up his play, and carry OKC into the playoffs, he deserves it. Although Lebron or Kobe will probably win. :puke:

Rookie of the Year - Tyreke Evans. Nobody else is close.

6th Man - Jamal Crawford. His 17 points off the bench have made Atlanta a serious contender, and have helped them pass the Magic for the division lead.

Defensive Player of the Year - Josh Smith. He's a monster on help and 1 on 1 defense. But it will probably go to rebound leader Dwight Howard or Lebron James and his block highlights. :puke:

Coach of the Year
- Rick Adelman. He has the Rockets playing awesome and in the playoff hunt without McGrady, Artest and Yao Ming. How can he not win??

Most Improved Player of the Year
- My vote would have gone to Greg Oden before he got injured. Maybe Michael Beasley? People called him a bust last year, and he's really stepped up this year. Channing Frye has also turned it around in Phoenix. I don't know who to pick on this one.

I think this might be one of the deepest rook classes in years. There REALLY ARE a lot of quality young players in the league. I think Tyreke Evans is the best right now. Maybe DeMar Derozan might be the best in 5 years?

Hasheem Thabeet---has he earned the tag "Bust" yet?

Blake Griffin---the next Greg Oden?

Good point. The rookie class is turning out pretty solid, even though a lot of "experts" thought it was a weak draft, and Washington even traded their top 10 pick because they didn't think it was worth using. :1orglaugh (Insert Arenas joke here) Tyreke Evans, Demar Derozan, Brandon Jennings, James Harden, Dejuan Blair, Stephen Curry, Johnny Flynn, Omri Casspi etc. I just think Evans has played at a much more consistently high level than the rest of the rookie class. Although Jennings had that 55 point game. The guy is a baller.

Thabeet is a huge bust. I don't know why he was drafted so high. I liked Dejuan Blair a lot more, and he's putting up better numbers this year. When you're 7'3" you're going to get stats in college. Especially when you play at UConn.

Poor Griffin. If he was drafted by anybody else, he wouldn't have been hurt. The Clippers really are cursed. Griffin, Livingston, Olowakandi, Koralev, Wilcox, Ferry, Skinner, Wright and the list goes on. The ones that leave end up having respectable careers. Odom, Richardson, McDyess and Chandler. They even have a sic team on paper. Davis, Kaman, Gordon, Thornton, Camby, Griffin etc and still can't get it done. Time to move back to San Diego.

The rookie class has been

I think Tyreke Evans is going to be better than Derrick Rose(I was never high on him in the first place).

Blake Griffin---the next Greg Oden?

Please god no! Not another Okie City local(Sam Bradford is the other)! :(
