What's your favourite food that is native to your country?

Mine is mashed potatoes served with Swedish meatballs, gravy and lingonberry jam.

I'd rather not talk about this subject as there is not much that is "native" to my country.. We'd rather steal everyone else's **** than come up with our own. >_<

However, this is a dish that I love to make! It is a Malbec infused lamb with lemon potatoes and homemade rolls.

(I love this picture because it looks like I'm having a nice dinner with my cat haha)

Seconded, there's not much that you can claim is purely 'American'. If you want to count where my ancestors came from though, I loved it when my grandmother used to make zrazy.

You gonna eat that? No? Mmmm nom nom nom

lol fuck you I ate your meatballs and potatoes. EVEN YOUR JAM!! Whatchu gonna do bout it brah?

Wasn't mine. It was Petra's and her Ninjas.

Looks delicious.

I screwed somebody over either way, so I'm happy.

Glad I could be of assistance.

One of these is not native to your country. Can we guess which one?

Obviously it's gravy.

walnut sauce yeah? /\

i made those for someone on a personal chef gig a couple years ago. the meat inside had a touch of cinnamon and a few raisins tossed in. it was pretty good.

and yeah, all our food is stolen. im not really long for american food at all. gimmie chinese any day of the week.

I'm trying to think of something native in this country that's good.....

Still thinking....

Still thinking....

Oh, fuck wait. The dutch don't actually have a native food.

Stampot is hardly native as other countries have similar dishes.

This is true, but its what they always tote as something truly dutch... that and those horrible things called Kroketten...

Still, not very native...

But then again, meatballs I believe were imported by Charles XII from the Ottoman empire if I recall it correctly.

Koketten is 100% dutch. Though it can hardly go into "favorite" native food.
