Just about all of it! So its almost impossible to name one specific food or dish as my absolute fav....unless I just say chicken. Chicken parmagiana, chicken pizza, Chicken tikka masala, chicken dumplings, bbq chicken, satay chicken, I could go on forever.... :chickendance:

Oh look, someone piped up about being vegan without prompting and it only took sixteen hours. Which is lightning fast on the board these days. No offense, but vegans have got to interject their lifestyle into conversation as quickly as possible. I treat it like I would with someone who has a facial tattoo. Generally I don't want to speak to them unless I have to but I know it's gonna be bad.

The arrival of Spring is accompanied by plentiful quantities of my favorite vegetable -- ASPARAGUS!

Re: Topic of the Week #2: What's Your Favourite Food

Ok I used to LOVE me a certain butchers NY Steak, I would put it up against ANY other cut it was so phenomenal.. but.... I have gone Vegan since march of last year and now my absolute favorite thing is an Italian Sausage from a company called 'Field Roast' .... just love the shit out of it and it helps me not miss meat in the slightest :)

Field Roast Sausages

From our family to yours! Field Roast sausages are made using traditional, old-country, sausage making practices. We begin, where all sausage lovers begin; with a grind; ours of grain meat. We chop our own fresh vegetables; eggplant, Yukon Gold potatoes, onions and garlic. Add some liquids; zesty lemon juice, rich red wine from a local winery, organic apple cider vinegar and finally the seasonings; fennel seed, sweet red pepper, rubbed sage, ginger, Chipotle and Chili de Arbol peppers and voila!; an artisan vegan sausage with sizzle, texture and personality!

I find I'm eating (and enjoying) more seafood as I get older. I do a really nice pan fried snapper or barramundi fillet dressed up with a little bit of herbs and lemon. Easy to do meal that's fucking scrumptious. (Yes, I really said scrumptious)

Other than that my homemade stir fried chicken and noodles done Singapore style.

Those are my fav's.

Re: Topic of the Week #2: What's Your Favourite Food

Curries of all sorts. Indian, Malay, Chinese, Thai... my favourite recipes are probably Pakistani. Hot ones, sweet ones, nutty ones, creamy ones, fruity ones, hot ones.... All the accompaniments too. Peshwari naan if I have a hot one, keema nan if its milder. Mango chutney, lime pickle, tamarind dip, samosa, bhaji, pakora, aloo tiki. Especially Baingan Bhaji and Chana Puri.

Bit harsh. At least it's topical. We are, after all, talking about what we eat.

I know what you mean though. I'm in the clothing business and I once had a complaint from a vegan, feminist, environmental activist about some branded stuff we'd done for her that went wrong and then fixed, and it went something like this ;

"So what exactly have you done with the wrong ones? Do you still have them?"
"No, we don't."
"Oh, that's a shame, I was going to ask if you wanted to sell them to me at a discounted rate. What's happened to them?"
"Well, with garments that are incorrect but still perfectly good to wear, we usually donate them to homeless charities."
"OH NO! You can't do that!! I really don't think (company name redacted) would want their logo being seen just anywhere!"
"Bear with me one second..."
(pause to decide what lies to tell her)
"I've just checked and since multinational companies might be sensitive about their logos, the jackets have actually been destroyed."
"Oh, no! That's awful! I deplore waste, I'm a conservationist and I'm also a vegan and....."

You're a vegan?? Oh, why ever didn't you mention this before??? That changes everything. Fucking good job nobody has to eat the jackets, yeah?

Not every feminist is a fruitloop, far from it. Not every environmentalist is a fruitloop. Not every vegan is a fruitloop. I suppose not every feminist, environmentalist vegan is a fruitloop. But this lass was a fucking multipack.

EDIT -

As an aside, to try and resuscitate Talk a little, I've been gradually moving threads that are just endless posts of pics connected to a particular porny/womans body part theme without any discussion into Niche. If the thread topic is actually promoting some talk, then it will stay in Talk. If it's just existing for members to either pic spam or wank over the pics posted, it will be re-homed to Niche.

Hope that makes sense.

I've been carb restricted for ten months, anything off my plan would be awesome; pizza, tacos, hoagies, burgers, fish n' chips (just about anything battered and deep fried), etouffee is one of my absolute favorite dishes ever over rice with lots of andouille and crawfish. I'm going into a sugar coma just typing it up. My birthday is coming up in May, a whole pecan pie has been an idea I've entertained. Thanks for making me hungry, Adam, you incredible cretin.

I love me some southern snapper - it's self-heating and so juicy tender.

Carolina Snapper is the best.

Yep, snapper done right is awesome. That's one thing about Oz, we've got some of the best seafood in the world. Pricey though. Luckily, I go fishing every other weekend and if I have some luck it gets cleaned up and straight into the pan that evening.

I've thought about going vegan too. I'm such an animal lover. If I was on a farm and raised an animal from birth and cared for it and saw to it's needs, there's no way in hell I could have it slaughtered and it ending up on my dinner table. I saw an article where that guy from the movie Babe turned vegan after filming the movie. That would be ideal for me. But I just can't see myself giving up meat for good. One, I've got hard-earned muscle mass to maintain <toot>. I'd have to compromise and be a fishitarian or something. I worked up in alaska for a time, I've held dying cod and salmon in my hands, they evoke no sympathy.

I know what you mean, Ani. I spent part of my childhood living on a hog farm in western Iowa and I haven't enjoyed pork (with the exception of bacon and the occasional chop) ever since I saw piglets being born. Once they're running around they are so damned cute. But survival school in the Corps kind of beat the compassion for stock animals out of me.

This is tough considering how much I love food. If I were stranded on an island with only one thing to eat, it would be pork chops. There is so much you can do with them and I can woof down many at a sitting when desired. But then again, it would be silly to think that this island would have the spices and condiments to use. Okay, put me on that island with a Taco Bell.

A ruby is the right way to go Stiffy. Give me a Chicken Tikka Madras a plain naan bread with a side of Bhindi Bhaji & Aloo Gobi. Sorted.

As a daily pot smoker 24/7 all of the food listed thus far sounds amazing. But right now I'd chop off my left foot for some taco's, even from Taco Bell.

I went to a Chinese restaurant that was pretty far away and when I got there, they had closed 30 minutes early. All I wanted was some dumplings, dammit!
