Expect Nothing and Appreciate Everything
Love this live version of Rubina by Joe Satriani

A lot of soul & emotion in this performance...It almost brings tears to me eyes :crying:

:1orglaugh

k what about this?

Tool are the shit. I finally get to see them do a solo show in a month's time after missing out on previous sold out gigs.

technically I saw them once a few years ago but it was at a festival, i was miles away from the stage so didn't 'actually' get to see them. Should be much better this time around. Can't wait for the new album....but knowing Tool they sure as hell are gonna make us wait. And it will be worth the wait AGAIN. Just wish it wasnt quite so long between albums.

I was listening to AEnima the other night, what a fucking fantastic record that was

AEnima is their best album IMO. I like how they used the Bill Hicks bit in the beginning of Third Eye. The song is too great for words.

I kinda liked it. I got a thing for tablas.

Just remembered this one, unsure when I first heard it, was 5 when it aired ...

Santana - Soul Sacrifice - Woodstock 1969

But when it fully hit me, back in, I think, 1980 or somewhen around then, I needed to get a guitar in my fingers right then :)

Amen, Santana is a legend, my fav is Europa though.

I'm not saying people can't enjoy a Linkin Park song. Or Lady Gaga, or Katy Perry or whoever. Enjoying it as music isn't the same as being affected on an emotional level. I can listen to Usher all day, but his B.S songs about love and loss and whatever don't mean shit to me. Because I know it's just a song. There is no sincerity in it.

Agreed, take for example this song, it was literally a suicide note that he decided to turn in to a song after he chose to live, doesn't get sincerer than that, and that sincerity is what makes a good artist.

The entire album is great, but this is one song that's always stuck with me for some reason. I guess it still has to do with unrequited love or something, but Stevie Wonder is amazing no matter what the mood.

I am aware that this song is somewhat cheesy, it's by Sammy Hagar as opposed to David Lee Roth (which some people may not like), and it's certainly not their greatest or most well-known song, but I do like it. If I listen to it, my mood picks up and things don't always seem as depressing as they might have been.

This, when I listen to it, makes me feel like nothing is impossible. If Freddie Mercury was able to sound this great when he was feeling ill, there's no reason I can't go to my full extent, even if I'm feeling poorly. Essentially, however "Dreams" may make me feel, times 1,000,000.

The Vaughn Brothers' Tick/Tock
Aaron Neville's Lousiana 1927 (1st heard it after Hurricane Katrina)
Phyllis Hyman's Living All Alone
(Started getting a little misty when listening to the songs while getting the titles correct)

Now if you excuse me, I'm feeling a little faklempt. Talk amongst yourselves. [dismissive hand gesture] I'll give you a topic. The Holy Roman Empire was neither holy nor Roman nor an empire. Discuss.

I don't think I can write down what I feel when I hear this song.

I'm with you on this one! An energetic, classy beat, paired with Cee-Lo's crazy lyricism and the balls to just say it out loud. You can tell he had a great time making this song. It may not be emotionally moving, but it's a move in the right direction.
