Most underrated movie!!

you guys took most of the ones i can think of but i would say Way of the gun, Knockaround guys( most dont like it purely because of vin diesel) Thirteen ghosts, pitch black and some others i cant think of. oh and JL3001, ghost in the shell is overwelmingly underrated in the us but it was one of the biggest anime movies ever in japan. for that matter all of bruce lee and jet li's(especially the legend series) earlier work are underappreciated.

Hey yo Scorpy! just a mis-type! only jst re read it now! see thats how UNDER-rated it is.............you guys aint heard of it!

just thought of another the negotiator....highly unapreciated

and A.I...very underestimated film....my belief is that it was hyped up to be something its not, an adventure movie when its more a dosmetic drama sci-fi title

Sorry Silicone, but I would have disagree on AI:Artificial Intelligence, bored me to death, and perhaps Speilberg's worse movie ever filmed, but hey more pwer to you if you enjoyed it.

I had The Negotiator on my list as well, very edge of your seat thriller and top notch acting.

Sorry OptimusMike I have not heard of the movie you have mentioned, perhaps it was never released here in the US. peace.

Sorry guys bumping this thread to the top, just because I know some of you guys love movies.

Anyway, saw Underworld today, not as good as I thought, kinda dragged in the middle. The movie had some cool effects and the werewolves looked awesome, and well the vampires looked like vampires. All I gotta say is Kate Beckinsdale is hot though, looked damn good in the tight leather outfits!

I own Armstrong, I got it from Woolies for £2.50. Its so bad its great. So yeah, under-rated!

Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Terminator 2, BTTF 1-3, Training Day, The Matrix, Groundhog Day, Four Rooms, Austin Powers 1 and 3, MP: Meaning of Life, the older C. Chan movies (like Superfighter 3), Memento, Predator, Romeo must Die, Tiger and Dragon, Die hard 1-3, Star Wars 4-6 .................

sure thoese arent your personal faves rather then underated movies!?

i saw underworld too....i enjoy...alot seems to be taken from other stories or at least v. simular to other stories but even so it was a worthy contender...very good history in the film i loved all that bit...it was like reading an old adult comic

but

cant believe i forgot this (well i think i did anyways!)

EQUILIBRIUM

if you like the matrix then watch this
if you like blade runner then watch this!
if you like dune then watch this!

brillient stuff

Some good movies you pointed out there StrikeIt, but half are not underrated, Like Terminator trilogy, the matrix, Austin Powers trilogy, Die Hard trilogy. All of those were very successful movies and well respected.

I do agree about Romeo Must Die though, pretty much all the Jet LI movies made here in USA are underrated.

I've seen parts of Donnie Darko, but not the entire movie, from what did see it seemed like a very intriguing movie, I will have to watch the whole thing someday.

Two movies that come to mind are;
1. The Pirate Movie (it's a rip off of Pirates of Penzance)
2. Shooting fish (did NOTHING anywhere, and in Australia is rental only)
3. MAX HEADROOM! (not a movie but kicks arse!)

Max Headroom was the shit man, I loved that show.

Never saw Equilibrium, heard it was a blatant ripoff of the matrix, can't wait the third movie to come out, three days after my birthday, hell yeah boy!!

yeh thats what any matrix fan will say.... but the thing is the story was written 2 years before the artwork was even concieved for the matrix.....they just didnt have the budget

to me the only thing that was like the matrix was the clothes...but thats completely relevent to the film hard to explain without spoiling it for you...just watch it dude

the other thing that makes people think its like the matrix is the fighting and stuff.....the only thing i got to say to that is....this is all real no cgi (in the fight scenes anyways...there is a poor blue screen but thats it) and its in a totally different style to the matrix fighting....its forty times cooler e.g one bit where Christian Bale is in the middle of a circle of swat guys with guns pointing at him and he doging bullets inbetween them while kicking all there arses....ok that soundsmatrix style....but its defo

fuck it....dude....dont listen to me just watch it!!!....makes the matrix look pants....and had this film had the same budget as the matrix (and a bloody advertising campaign)...fuck a duck it would of made the film obsolete

Well being a true movie fan, I do not enjoy the Matrix films because of the cool effects and fight scenes, some say Reloaded was weak and nothing comapared to the original. I say thats bullshit, its almost like committing a sin to say you loved the second film. These films have been made a thousand times before, the ending and the beginning of a new apocalptic world. The difference is it is with more of a futuristic, sci-fi twist. There is so philosophical aspects of the matrix movies, that I don't have time to explain the facts about it. Like them or hate them, these films will be classics till the end of time.

BTW silicone, I am not knocking you about equilibrium, I have never seen it, probably will eventually, evn if it was conceived before the matrix films, lets face the facts my friend, without the matrix this movie would not have seen the light of day. This thread is not about agruing about movies, its about sharing our love for cinema, its like women, we all have our own tastes, peace.

why do you think this film wouldnt of seen the light of day?...cause matrix opened up a whole new ball park?....no chance.... the matrix is nothing new...dont get me wrong its a good action film and everything but hardly a classic in my eyes....they had money they had ideas for fight scenes....so they made a good special effects movie (im on about the first one here...second one in terms of special effects was on par with frikkin spiderman)

equilibrium borrows more off japanese animation then it does off the matrix...hell the only thing that makes this like the matrix is the clothes....

in terms of the philosophical aspects shit.....the guys just read a few books.... dante's inferno , the bible etc etc and nicked some stories and pasted them into the film to make it all seem believeable. HELL thats a fucking brillient idea its kinda original you dont see many action films where people are gettin shot out ever where that use aspects of the bible do you?...well apart from some of the nasty stuff in the bible anyways

at the end of the day yes it is opinions...and dude i respect yours and i totally understand why you like these films...they are massively enjoyable films but dont go beliving that the matrix opend doors into the film world....theres tons of films which didnt have the budget that the matrix had that came out years before hand (mainly japan and korea of all places) and because of that failed to get recognition....peace dude lets move on and talk about something else now eh?

you know ive just been reading some of my posts....shit im must of been bloody tied.....hardly makes sence!?!?!....lucky im not on imdb....arseholes on there wont take any notice of you unless you are a graduate in english and litriture....shit fuckin typos and swearing aint even allowed on there

I HATE IT!...all opinionated arse bandits!....sorry ok i'll shut up now....going off on a mad one

Only proves we are only human silicone my friend, we all make mistakes, who cares what other people say anyway. I've made hundreds of typing errors and spelling errors, but does it mean I am uneducated,I think not. These boards are suppossed to be fun and an exciting way to meet cool people, and on this board in particular I don't think they care how many typing errors you make, as long as you keep posting pics of hot beautiful babes. Peace
