Most underrated movie!!

Sup guys we all hear about the most overrated movies, but how about the most underrated, these are reffered to as cult movies. Here are some I would like to name along with a little comment:

Fight Club (great ending, cool fight scenes, a personal fav)

Beavis and Butt-head Do America (hilarious, you are lying if you never watched the show)

From Hell (great movie about Jack the ripper, scary at times)

Bring It On (about cheerleaders, but guilty pleasure, fun movie)

Little Nicky (some say Adam Sandlers worst ever, but it always makes me laugh)

Me, Myself and Irene (often hilarious, great physical comedy by Jim Carrey)

Zoolander (hilarious satire comedy about the modeling world, Ben Stiller is a genius)

Those are all I can name for now, please post your own personal movies you think never get appreciated. Thanks and peace.

Some more movies which never get the recognition they deserved:

Any Given Sunday (great sports movie, very gritty and real)

Arachnophobia (a great scary movie even for a PG-13)

Last Action Hero (was suppossed to be as cheesy as it was, great movie and Arnold poking fun at himself)

Sliver (Sharon Stone looked hot, and is about voyeurism, a great guilty pleasure movie)

1. Hellraiser, this is one of clive barkers best (a great scary movie)
2. copycat
3. any adam sandlers film (he is one funny guy and cracks me up)
4.full metal jacket ( a war film, the best bit is where private piles blows his brain out)
5. time bandits (loads of stars some young some not so)
6.any stoner film you know blazing saddles, cheets&chong, dude weres my car,

Thanks for the responses guys. hey Lisa I'm with you on Dude, Where's My Car, so freaking stupid its hilarious. Natural Born Killers is perhaps Oliver Stone's best movie ever, genius movie, excellent choice Lisa!! This topic could also mean movies so cheesy we still love them, this isn't about actors Mr. Funky its about movies.

I would totally agree on Hellraiser (still creeps me out), Full Metal Jacket (hate war movies, but this one surprised me), Copycat(good thriller), never seen time bandits.

Anyways keep this thread going, I am a huge movie buff and its always interesting to know what kinda movies people would normally hate or despise, but you yourself just can't get enough of, remember these are movies that were not hits when first released. Thanks again

yo guys...not wanting to start arguemnts here but people are saying like fight club, platoon, goodfellas....clearly not underated moves i mean go to imdb and check where they come in the top 250 .....and in most movie magazines your bound to find goodfellas in there top ten

overated movies are films like Last Action Hero (not saying i agree) that were said to be an absolute pile of doggie shyte by critics.......sooooooo mine would be

Bound (early Wachchoski brothers movie very very good)

Return to Oz (everybody said it was shit cause it wasnt a musical go figure!)

Slipstream (allthough a bit boring its worth just watchin for Mark Hamil who is fucking amazing in it no longer the wimpy nerd)

Star Trek - First Contact (i hate star trek and most trekky fans hate this one...so mayb thats why i like it cause mayb its soooo different from the rest)

Enemy Mine (fantastic film more un recognised rather then under rated)

The League of Extrondinary Gentlemen (its something different yes it has silly flaws like fast editting and changes to charactors from the original comics but to me this is a fantastic family adventure film really good fun and way up there with my all time fave adventures goonies, labyrinth, dark crystal, flight of the navigator etc)

Nikita (old french film by Luc Beson before he was currpted by holywood...did really well in france and other european countries but was unrecognised in the rest of the world so they remade it into a new film with bridget fonda called The Assasin which was lame in comparision)

and thats all i can think of for now

I can understad your argument Silicone, being a huge movie buff myself, I am mainly wanting to know its not about whether it received a good review or not from critics, who cares about critics, I am talking movies that when they orginally came out were not box office hits. Here is some more I would like to add:

We all have diferent tastes in ovies, this thread is not meant for debate, its just a chance for all of us to name a few movies we love to hate and vice versa. Perhaps you did not read the topic my friend, most underrated:
the back to the Future trilogy, terminator movies, Rocky and Aliens are some of the most respected movies of our generation, but not underrated. All very good movies by the way, and you have no argument here from me.

What and Fight Club, Any Given Sunday, From Dusk Till Dawn, Desperdado are not guy movies. I might also add pretty much any jackie Chan movie should be on the list.

But I have forgotten perhaps th most underrated of all time and don't anybody deny it:

SHOWGIRLS (perhaps the worst acted movie in history but you can't help but enjoy and not just cause it has ton of nudity, the ultimate guilty pleasure movie, esecially when ohing else is on)

Good for you Silicone for bringing up Enemy Mine, a movie that is rarely seen on cable these days, but a great movie.

Ok then as far as i'm concerned the most over-rated "Movie" of all time has to be.............................."ARMSTRONG" anyone with any taste knows what am talkin about, the trailers alone makes this movie worth buyin!

Memento- Man, I love this movie. It's entertaining, and it really makes you think. One of my all time favorite movies.

Clerks- I love this movie too, real funny.

Ghost in The Shell- Great animated flick, it has everything.

Someone already told it but all Kevin SMith movies are great (especialy Dogma)
"Abre los Ojos" a spanish movie from Alejandro Amenabar (who did "the others" with Nicole Kidman). The american remake is Vanilla Sky.

Joe's appartment : a film with dancing cockroaches

May and Spider are the most underrated movies, I've seen.

I suggest all of you get of your ass and stop looking at porn for a awhile and go to the local video store and rent or even buy them, If you have to.

Damn you guys are coming up with some great movies, I almost forgot about Memento, truly excellent movie, great choice JL3000.

Oh and hey OptimusMike my friend it says most UNDERRATED movies at the top, not overrated. There is a huge difference, perhaps you can make your own thread about overrated movies. I have never heard of the movie you mentioned anyway. Sorry not trying to sound rude or anything just correcting you buddy.
