You can't choose what tests your doctor has to run. Your doctor and your wallet do the choosing. I don't know what strange illusion of free choice you have when it comes to your visits at the doctor's office.I propose that I should be able to choose what tests I have my doctor run based on what I want. I do not propose that the gov't tell my doctor that he cannot perform certain tests b/c it's not cost-efficient.
You know what's absurd, this anti-government rambling all the time. Be glad you have a government bound to laws. Unlike some African countries, where you can be shot at your doorstep, because the police and the government don't care... if it's not actually them having ordered your shooting...But putting a person's health into the hands of our gov't is absurd.
What is it with Americans and France? As if France was the epitome of the cowardly socialist country. Perhaps you should try going there some time. And not just for the Eiffel tower. The average tax payer does not pay more taxes in France than in Germany, England or the US. The property or wealth taxes for example are much lower in France than in the US.If one wants the gov't to control that aspect of their life, one needs to move to France. Sure they get free healthcare. Great!! But they also pay an enormous amount of taxes too.
That's the same thing for almost every European country, not just France. Why do you think, America is bankrupt? Why do you think, so many hospitals or universities in the US can't pay their bills? In reality, they can't afford to pay their doctors, scholars and scientists as much as they actually do pay them, but they just do it.Well as far as I know in France, lots of good doctors and scientists leave France to have a better salary and less social taxes. And where do they go ? America.
...the US health system is pretty darn good if you have insurance.
Of course she had a iPhone and Blackberry she is a college student. Works at a coffee shop, hippie, bet ashe did not believe in westeren medical anyways.^^^But I wouldn't be the least surprised if she has the latest iPhone and iPod, and HD television, more dvd's than you can count, and wears very expensive clothes.
Problem is, there are a lot of ignorant people who have their priorities completely screwed up. The U.S. is a nation of consumers who for some reason disregard their health.

I said, that I wouldn't be surprised if she spent her money on things I mentioned.
There are too many people in the U.S. who do spend their money on what they want instead of what they need such as health insurance. But than in the end they want people to feel sorry for them when they get sick and can't take care of themselves. I have no fuckin' sympathy for these people at all!
They first need to grow up and start taking some responsibility!
Wow she worked 2 jobs ,did all kinds of good things and gets denounced as being a material girl.
She was a good person who possibly died of swine flu who did not get treatment because of a lack of insurance and people post it's her own fault somehow.
Real classy.![]()
She won't be growing up. She is dead because she could not afford to go to the doctor. Stop spouting the insurance industry’s talking points for a minute and think about that. This young lady is dead because she could not afford to go the doctor.
No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick.
Do you think that hardwork citizens should pay for others who are broke???
I think not, like I said in my previous post, learning how to save money is essential.
This survey is part of the series, Debating Health: Election 2008. The series focuses on current health issues in the presidential campaign. The survey design team includes Professor Robert Blendon, Tami Buhr, John Benson and Kathleen Weldon of the Harvard School of Public Health; and Humphrey Taylor, Scott Hawkins and Justin Greeves of Harris Interactive.
This survey was conducted by telephone within the United States among a nationwide cross section of adults aged 18 and over. The survey was conducted from March 5 to 8, 2008 among a representative sample of 1026 respondents. Figures for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education, region, number of adults in the household, size of place (urbanicity) and number of phone lines in the household were weighted where necessary to bring them into line with their actual proportions in the population.
All sample surveys and polls are subject to multiple sources of error including sampling error, coverage error, error associated with nonresponse, error associated with question wording and response options, and post-survey weighting and adjustments. The sampling error for both polls is +/- 3.0% in 95 out of 100 cases for results based on the entire sample. For results based on a smaller subset, the sampling error is somewhat larger.
Some of you people are disgusting. How dare you spout your hatefull, ignorant rightwinged retoric and call yourself human! You dumb, ignorant, selfcentered hate and fear mongers make me sick! You don't care about how circumstances can change in an instant and turn someones life upside down. You don't care about people who suddenly find themselves without a job. You don't care that some people have to choose between health insurance and feeding their family. None of that matters because you only see what your narrow minded selfcentered mind allows you to see and you start spouting your filth about how it's their own fault. Shame on you!

And actually as a college student as long as she was taking at least 15 credits a semester she should be covered under her parents health care till she is 25.
