Mixed Martial Arts

I don't get the MMA crowds at some of these events.
last night Anderson Silva won again decisively (spelling?) over thales laites
but the crowd was booing cause Silva didn't win the fight in 19 seconds.
:dunno:
but when he wins in 19 seconds they boo because they feel they didn't get thier moneys worth.
:dunno:
did anyone see the fight (ppv) last night.
silva did exactly what he needed to do to win.
is it his fault his opponent could not get and takedowns, land punches on an evasive silva and not block or protect vs anything silva WANTED to do to him?
i hate that.
plus Lidell lost by another KO. chuck is just about done. maybe he still fights but not top guys anymore

Spot on i agree 100%. The Silva-Laites fight was poor but the fans have no idea what they want. As for Liddell, well, he is finished that is for sure. I originally started out hating him but over the past few years i have grown to respect him alot but he is going downhill. Did you see the look on his face after the fight? he was so dejected like he knew it was the end. I hope that im proven wrong but i dont think i will be. What do you guys think about Lesner by the way?

lesnar is a monster :D but he has some serious wrestling chops he placed second in the ncaa wrestling championship in 1999 and first in 2000 so as long as he keeps improving his other skills he should be fun to watch

i like lesnar. have since his wwe days. he is a beast. i think once he really learns all the facets of MMA and gets the proper training he could be a real huge draw for UFC.

as for chuck. Spartan did you see the show? did you see the post fight interview with Rogan? he was doing he fucking best to get chuck to say he retires but chuck wouldn't say it.
Dana was on Opie&Anthony this week and he came out and said it right on the air that chuck is done.

No i didnt see that but i will look for it. Cheers mate.

my favorite thing about rogan is how many times he wants to see the ball shots, i remember one time where he even mentioned how much he likes to see them over and over :D it made me laugh

yeah rogan shits me like that, as if the guy wants to talk about retirement

im not gonna say it was rogan's fault that he sorta hinted trying to get chuck to say it. they pretty much spent the show talking about Chuck's "last chance" and that if he didn't win he was probably done.
joe just did what he is sent into the ring to do.
Was Joe going to ask another guy who speaks Zero english a question just to have his translator speak in another language.....have the guy speak back to him in another language for 2 minutes..... and for the translator to say "my opponent is a good fighter he is strong and i trained hard for this fight".....
WHAT??? i hate to be mean or sound like a racist (if that is what it would be called) but if you cannot speak even partial broken english then you should not get interviewed after the fight. it's a time waster

nobody talks MMA on here anymore.

the PPV last night.
hughes dec. over serra. i had it a draw i guess it wasn't.
machida ko'd evans wins light heavy title.
i see machida beating lots of opponents. he is unorthodox. different and that is what makes him so good. i forsee a long title reign
i had this feeling evans wasn't really ready for a title reign.
he came to the octagon all dancy, singing and doing alot of stuff before the fighters were even anounced.
he needs to cut that out and come to the octagon focused and mean.
he didn't look like he was focused or he was taking machida lightly. which nowadays i don't think u can take any opponent lightly cause you'll end up like rashaad ... on your back eyes rolled back in your head!

WAR LYOTO!!! What a performance by Machida last night.

Also, Frankie Edgar proved to be a top ten LW last night.

Also, I scored Serra vs. Hughes 29-28 for Serra but could see it going either way so its not a bad decision.

I was expecting a split decision in the Hughes/Serra fight and I thought Hughes just edged it but didn't think it was definative either way.
Was expecting Machida to beat Evans but on points, was surprised to see him knocked out but it was a peach of a shot.

I hope Frankie Edgar gets his due soon. One more win over a contender and h is knocking on the title door.

Does anyone watch WEC?

I was watching a repeat last Sunday of the Mike Brown vs. Uriah Faber fight, and it was pretty good.

I know that the rematch is coming up soon, and I think that Brown is gonna take him again.Faber is a little to uncontrolled at times for me,and that's pretty much what cost him the fight.

Lots of good fights on the undercard of the WEC: Faber vs. Brown 2.
. Jose Aldo vs. Cub Swanson (Aldo is like the FW Anderson Silva)
. Donald Cerrone vs. James Krause (Donald is a great fighter)
. Josh Grispi vs. Jens Pulver (Lil Evil gets tested again. Grispi is a tough draw for Jens.)

Any predictions on the Brown/Faber rematch?

I say Brown wins again.

WEC does the same 5 rounds for a title fight as UFC?
if so i say faber is gonna submit brown late in the 4th round
