He is still one of the most feared striker in the HW division....a threat to anyone holding the title. Hope he didn't break his leg or ankle from when he dropped to the canvas, after that godly kick from Gonzaga. His right leg looked all fucked up when he fell.
Can't wait to see him back in the octagon.

Yeah man. His ankle was all the way around. Yuk.
I don't think it was such a godly kick from Gonzaga though. He wasn't expecting it (for exactly the reasons you said) so he flinched and brought his hands down (not up) - bad move. Even if he had brought them up he still would have gotten clocked but not turned into Raggedy fuckin Ann.

His ankle was fine, more or less btw. Hard to believe I know. He's only fought twice since then though. Counting his K1 days Mirko's had well over 50 fights so naturally he's got some nagging injuries that he's been taking care of lately. Word is he's fighting again this fall in Japan, probably against Overeem. He's taking his fights away from the UFC 1 at a time, so after that who knows.

Speaking of which:
What happen to the Hunt vs Overeem fight?

Cro Cop messed up like many of his opponents....thinking it was a low mid section kick which turned to be a head shooter.

Besides no body knew who Gonzaga was and what he is capable of. Now, everyone fans/opponents will expect/watch out for that right kick of his. Hell, the dude might be a "1 hit wonder" and fall off the face of the UFC world after that huge upset.

Silva moving up to 235? that is what Fedor fights at? i doubt that... WOW thats almost 50lbs to add on.
i don't know if you saw the UFC fight night from sat. silva did say that his priority right now is the middleweight belt (185) so i don't think you might even see him at 205 anymore.we can all dream right?
or maybe make it happen in the UFC game!

That trailer looks fucking insane!

i love crocop but fedor is unstoppable. You also need to understand that the only reason that fight went to decision is because fefdor came into the fight with a broken right hand having previously busting it on gary goodridge's head.

randy couture was on Opie&Anthony today.
he talked about the Affliction PPV and how Fedo was a beast and how he was suprised that Sylvia got beat so quick.
how he was 3 wins and 1 loss coaching/cornering on the PPV.
he was saying that he WANTS to fight Fedor. it doesn't matter to him if it's in the UFC or wherever.
he said he his UFC contract that he has (i think if i remember correctly) 2 years or 4 fights still remaining. so a fight with Fedor NOT in the UFC isn't going to happen!
but he said if Dana White or the UFC came to him tomorrow and said we want you to fight fedor in the UFC he said it would happen!
he promoted his book.
they asked him other questions not totally related to UFC or other MMA companies in general.
mostly but not limited to the difference of an MMA fighter taking on a street fighter, who would win,how does he turn the "switch" on and off for fights and not fighting,is there anyone he really dislikes in MMA, are his fists registered as lethal weapons.
his wife was there and she talked a little about her MMA career. and they asked if she wants to see Randy break a guys face who hits on her, gets shot down, then gets beer muscles and thinks he could take randy. LOL
some other stuff not worth mentioning overall a great job By Randy who is ALWAYS very Personable on the air.

Hunt got submitted by Overeem in the first round. Overeem's always been a streaky fighter, up-and-down might be a better way to put it and he just happens to be hot right now, Hunt hadn't fought mma in 18 mos. That's the way she goes.

I think Gonzaga just had a really good night against Cro Cop. After that Couture beat him up in the clinch, and basically made him quit. Then Fabricio Werdum took it to him on the feet also and knocked him out. He showed in those two fights that, like a lot of grapplers turned fighters (Shinya Aoki anyone?) he really does not like to get hit. At all. As soon as those guys turned it up on him, he was done.

He's still got size, youth, awesome jiu jitsu and that highlight reel KO going for him but he doesn't have what it takes to make a champion imo.

Yeah, Hunt have no ground game, if he did...watch out! He would be one helluva G&P'er cause no one would be able to get him off them.

Yeah, Gonzaga does have youth and size....I thought he was an all out striker.
He should be proud of that night cause he knocked out a world class fighter.

Can't wait til the next event.

If Fedor's fighting Arlovski in Vegas, I'm there. I guess this kinda leaves Randy standing there holding his cock.

After UFC 87, all I've got to say right now is: GSP is the man!
he looked real good. GSP vs the Prodigy looks like it's going to happen.
brock looked a little more relaxed this time. he smashed the shit out of herring (who i hate...but have a newfound respect for).i have to say brock is O-VER-POW-ER-ING. a fucking beast if he gets even more well rounded he may be a serious heavyweight to stay the fuck away from.
i was disappointed with roger huerta but i like both him and KenFlo so i was ok if either won.
My Boy Chieck Kongo KO'd that guy from sweden or finland. that guy looked a little TOO happy to be in the UFC. like a little schoolgirl. he looked overexcited and not more focused and he got decked.

Anybody notice Dan "The Terrible Ref" Miragliotta poke Herring in the eye? And then the cocksucker laughs about it! Heath looked like he was gonna go for his second pre fight KO for a minute. As for Lesnar, he's big, he's strong, he's a wrestler. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't know if they'll give him a can for his next fight or maybe someone like Kongo or Cain Velasquez. I'd imagine the ufc will do their best at keeping him away from bjj fighters such as Gonzaga though.

id love to see some one like werdum pick apart lesnar. any 1 check out maia , watta machine hes my pick on the man to dethrone anderson

The thing with Lesnar is like this, against guys like Werdum or Gonzaga he'd have a good shot at winning the fight standing. Werdum's striking has looked better since he's been training at Chute Boxe but he's still got questionable power and we've seen Gonzaga pretty much fold against Couture & Werdum once he really started getting hit. At some point in those fights you gotta think Lesnar would revert back to what he knows best. In the end, that's what wrestlers always do, wrestle. And being on the ground with those guys is a terrible idea for him at this point. Outside of the 4 big bjj black belts (Mir, Nog, Gonzaga, Werdum) I think I'd like his chances against most of the division. For the sake of the freakshow I still want to see Brock Lesnar vs Bob Sapp though.

:1orglaugh stick and move with sapp until he runs out of gas at 45 seconds into the 1st round. i liked him always thought he was unbeatable until he had to go more than 3 minutes and he fucking gassed! he connects you're done just stay away until he is gulping for air!

Maia did great...he might be tough for Spider.

That's the gameplan alright, but not too many people survive to implement it. Fujita & Jan Nortje managed to avoid getting hit. Nog got the piss beat out of him in the process, but that's Nog. Today on the Fight Network I saw Bob Sapp (in K1) KO a guy with a little swat. It looked like nothing, wasn't even a punch, but it laid this guy out. I still don't know how he beat the greatest K1 fighter ever, Ernesto Hoost 3 fuckin times though.

GSP vs the Prodigy looks like it's going to happen.

I would hate to see that BJ Penn vs. GSP. It would cause so many problems for those weight classes, make Kenny Florian wait for his deserved title-shot, and probably show how bad BJ is at heavier weights. What would they do with the winner? Make him bounce between weight classes every few months to defend his multiple titles? Sounds dumb to me. The UFC 87 matchup between Florian and Huerta was supposed to set up a lightweight title fight and this whole GSP thing just ruins that.
