Let's not fall into the "Sam Fisher School of Thread Starting" please.
A. That's not the headline that goes w/ the story
B. The articles say she was "granted". Not that she "sought".
C. The article says this is something to do w/ her kids. If being granted this "citizenship" helped your kids, you wouldn't do it?
D. Unless there is another significant detail, what's wrong with dual-citizenship?
E. If the way the Swiss do things gets the crazee bitch to change her addled mind about something, how is this not a good thing?
F. It's Michelle Fucking Bachmann. If she ain't running for Prez, her diminished entertainment value requires a better story than this for us to mock her.

Bachmann was granted citizenship in Switzerland? As a life long Minnesotan I have this to say:
"What the heck ya mean? Ah, Jeeez. . . "
The truth is that the founders of the State of Minnesota made a pact with Satan over a hundred years ago (to stop the destruction of the forest at the hands of Paul Bunyon), and now we are bound to elect one looney toon to public office every election cycle. At least Jesse Ventura was entertaining.
On the bright side, maybe she'll move to Switzerland and then we can do some other crazy ass thing like support Diablo Cody or Prince for a presidential run.

She has actually been a Swiss citizen since 1978, since marrying that one gay guy. She only recently exercised those rights recently in order to get her kids dual citizenship. Yet, to her it was not one bit of an issue until it came to light.

As I understand it (and correct me if I'm wrong), but it was the father's Swiss citizenship that enabled the kids to be Swiss citizens. Michele's citizenship status had nothing to do with the kids' status. She was entitled to Swiss citizenship when she married Sweet Marcus back in the 70's. But only a couple of months ago she decided to seek dual American/Swiss citizenship.
IMO, no matter the politics or ideology of the person, that a sitting member of the United States Congress would do this is shameful - it's especially ironic and distasteful that it's a fake, flag waving, hyperbolic, bomb thrower like Michele Bachmann. As much as she's willing to question the patriotism of others, she really takes the cake by pulling a stunt like this. But, it's pretty much what I expect from those of her ilk.
