Donald trump is the american Adolf Hitler

Godwin's Law (or Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1"[2][3]— that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism.

Promulgated by American attorney and author Mike Godwin in 1990,[2] Godwin's Law originally referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions.[4] It is now applied to any threaded online discussion, such as Internet forums, chat rooms, and blog comment threads, as well as to speeches, articles, and other rhetoric.[5][6]

In 2012, "Godwin's Law" became an entry in the third edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.
Godwin's Law..Schmodwin's Law. He made the comparison in the freakin' OP for crissakes!

Thanks for your advice, as I believe it was well-intentioned. And expecting more of me than Will E Worm I think I can take as a compliment (face palm in 3...2...1).

Those videos were a response to knowone's claims. As I said, I don't have anything to draw on when it comes to the Reagan presidency other than after the fact. I know alot of people admire him greatly now. History tends to be kinder than in real time. I just remember Chris Matthews on MSNBC having a virtual (or maybe actual) orgasm on air after hearing Obama speak and the almost messianic way some of Obama's supporters were looking up to him when he was first elected. Of course they were going to be let down. And a bunch of school kids being coached into singing a song of praise to a sitting president just seemed creepy.

But yeah, none of that compares to the cult of personality and outright worship with Hitler in Germany and literally with Hirohito in Japan.

Our presidents are our employees. Actually more than that. With the oath they take, they are our servants. We are their bosses.

A well-stated and appropriate response. Despite our fundamental differences of opinion on many issues, I think that you and I would find lots of common ground over a couple of beers sometime, Fox. You're a very bright and insightful young man. Glad to know that your mind remains open to views that initially may give you pause but that you are willing to reconsider your position when warranted. It's a rare trait these days when any of us can avoid the propensity to blindly follow ideological dogma and be willing to weigh alternative viewpoints in individual instances rather than simply giving a knee-jerk response without even considering the possible validity of an opposing argument. I'd rep you if they'd let me.

Just watched THIS view about Herman Cain. Did not notice before that he actually rana very special campaign, and as it also looks: He had special interests, not beimg in it for actually becoming president

Why this reference? Because that Trump is doing a similar thing, running the campaign to boost ther issues for himself, using a platform that is clownish and ridiculous enough to lend him the exposure on a global scale, which he otherwise would be having a much more costly time to come by.Remember, he doesn't invest that much into election teams and so on, the signs are there that he does this not for being elected

I'm almost a hunnert percent certain Trump wasn't in on that whole "final solution" thing.

Boy, you really missed the mark on that one Jagger!

Sorry but I respectfully disagree with you. Although we frequently are at odds on a wide range of issues, Fox is always willing to look at alternative viewpoints and, although he might not eventually agree with you, he is not stuck in a dogmatic psyche like l so many people here on both sides of the aisle seem to be, For that, I respect him. He debates instead of making totally and mindless partisan statements and we need a whole lot more of that on this forum from my perspective. We need more participants like him as far as I am concerned. Who knows? Maybe someday he'll see the light and actually become a social liberal! :dunno:

Thanks Jagger. I have my core set of beliefs and principles as I suppose most here do but yeah, I do want to hear other viewpoints even if I ultimately don't end up agreeing with them. Echo chambers are boring. And I'm not adverse to changing my mind on an issue either.

And I appreciate your posts on here.
