Michael Vick signs 2-yr deal w/Eagles

I have to admit that it is difficult to get excited about this move to say the least. Donovan McNabb must be pining for the days of T.O. over this potential circus.

Personally, I don't think there is any conflict with McNabb. Vick right now hasn't played in a few years, and I highly doubt there's anything he can do to become anything other than a high profile accessory to the Eagles offense. And by that I mean he'll probably be the backup, and possibly get in on this ridiculous "Wildcat" garbage. McNabb has two years left on his contract, and if he's demoted, he's going to want out, and that leaves the Eagles with a rusty quarterback who even at his best way mediocre.

We're so badly hit with injuries, brand new O Line, and the passing of our Def. Coordinator that this will probably add very little to our title chances. Phillies look pretty good, though!

The only remorse I've seen is that he misses the income. He's sorry it cost him money. Whatever your views, don't forget what this man did.

"PETA and millions of decent football fans around the world are disappointed that the Philadelphia Eagles have chosen to sign a man who hanged dogs from trees, electrocuted them with jumper cables, held them underwater until they drowned in his swimming pool, and even threw his own family dogs into the fighting pit to be torn to shreds while he laughed."

Michael Vick had several options(hear that the Bengals is another team) & 'mediocre' QB's who are polarizing, two year layoff,ex convicts ,etc.......don't get 6 million dollar deals.:dunno:
Vick was a good ,but not great QB mainly because offensive coordinators in the NFL do not have the courage nor creativity to utilize a players talent. It's a coppycat League were everyone is running the same damn offense(west coast or variation).

That ridiculous' wildcat garbage' was proven to be deadly effective in Miami & shows you what can happen if Coordinators had one ounce of creativity or courage to try something else(I still think the diminuitive Doug Flutie who was successful in Canada could have been a better NFL QB had the coaches utilized him properly).

Vick 'chose' the Eagles because they already had a established QB & that's what he was looking for. A team with an established QB like New England,Pittsburgh,Philly,Bengals,etc..... were he wouldn't be forced into playing after being so rusty. He is speaking now(press conference) of the impossible task of being a starter after a two year layoff. Perfect situation in Philly for him to ease his way back into Football shape.

I'd rather have Michael Vick in the position of being a taxpayer, not a liability. Let 'em be.

Here,here!

He did his time and now it's time to let him get on with his life.

But I hope as Giant's fan he is a flop for the eagles.:)

It makes sense. Isn't Kolb injured? If so, the Eagles need a backup and you could do a lot worse than Vick.

As Facetious said....the guy paid his debt to society and he has every right to make a living at his chosen profession. I'm sure there will be a lot of negative publicity with which the Eagles will have to deal (and justifiably so). Personally, I couldn't give a shit how he does on the field and if he ends up being a dismal failure, well, instant kharma, Mike.

Oh....and anyone who thinks McNabb isn't an elite NFL QB knows nothing about football.

I love animals and as much as I hate what he did the man went to prison and served his time. He didn't get off on some bullshit and escape punishment. He is free to make a living at what he does best.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
Regardless of what anybody says, superior athlete or not, I hope he fails miserably, I am aware that he paid his debt to society, if he wasn't a filthy rich athlete he would have most definitely served a much deserved longer sentence NO DOUBT about it, that said, the other half of his punishment should be a permanent ban from the NFL, not only did he have the nerve to lie about everything, he never showed any remorse for his Illegal activity, he betrayed everybody, and stupidly made himself into a lowlife A$$wipe who doesn't deserve to ever play in the NFL again, IMO he shouldn't be given the chance to regain his arrogance by being allowed to play in the NFL after his deplorable actions, he was a hero to kids, I hope some linebacker or db fucks him up.

Sure he's allowed to pursue his career & his pursuit of happiness, but he doesn't deserve the NFL again, let him play in the CFL or the EuroFL to obtain a gaudy income again.

I say fuck Micheal vick he's nobody special, he shouldn't be treated as such, nor should he be glorified in any capacity @ all, and given NO respect.

I don't give a fuck what anybody says, dogs or not those were living animals he willing MURDERED. not by accident either, on purpose, with intent, & without ANY REMORSE, so why should we respect or have remorse for him?? we shouldn't, & I don't.. fuck m. vick!!! :thefinger:mad::cussing::2 cents:

He definitely deserved a 'longer sentence' when he got a near unprecedented jail sentence for running a dogfighting ring?

Athletes /celebrities have become victims to this new public/internet lynch mob mentality & actually are getting tougher justice than the average citizen. D.A's lick their lips when they see a celebrity case on their desks so they can make a name for themselves/prove how tough they are on crime & satiate the public lynch mob.

I personally know at least 3 guys with as many dogs(one who got busted for dogfighting) & I have rarely(never) ever ever heard of a two year sentence for running a dogfighting ring. One guy I know got busted one weekend at a big dogfight(owned 40 something dogs) & was at work on Monday morning & only got probation/fines I heard & I know they didn't even take 'ALL' of his dogs away.:dunno:

Had the nerve to lie? Typically when someone is engaged in an illegal activity they lie about it. I assume Vick thought(wrongly) that his friends would take the fall ,but they didn't & I don't know why. Mike took is unprecendented two year sentence like a MAN(no complaining) & now it's time to move on.

I saw this same bitching & moaning when Paris Hilton/Nicole Richie were sentenced & people claimed celebrity got them light sentences ,but they were typical sentences for DUI offenders in Cali. It is a detriment(besides money for the best Lawyers) to be an accused celebrity in today's environment.

dog fighting ?

Word on the street is he did have 'game' dogs ,but I think he was a much more effective NFL QB especially if utilized properly.
This is gonna be even more rewarding to see him succeeed considering how polarizing he is & those he wish to see him fail.

Can't wait to buy my Vick Eagles jersey(can he wear Jaworski's #7? I doubt if the Eagles retired it.) & replace my two nephews' Falcons jerseys who live in Lithonia Georgia.

wow, man, my girl told me last night that he got signed, and i was like the fuck, who is that crazy, i mean i like the guy i watched him in school and then loved him with the falcons, not my team but love deion sanders and the dirty bird, i just think he should do what he can for who ever he plays for and is thankful that the got another shot at it. most people can and do get more then one shot and he is not better then anyone else, but since he plays football he has a bigger stage and i think people forget that they are just people too. they make mistakes and they get to take aim again and get to move on too.

Since we are friends I don't wanna argue with you about this, and this may not make sense, but think about it, be open minded when it comes to these glam celebs..etc. IMHO this like apples & oranges, those fucks that do that dogfighting shit deserve to be treated just like the dogs they torture & kill, stiffer laws are definitely needed, as for the girly flossies and their DUI's I am sure they were PR inspired, they do that shit on purpose, they are not driving in a drunk stupor where they are gonna kill somebody, just my opinion, it may not be true or accurate, but don't you think these celebs have security & pr reps, and a all kinds of people who protect their ASSETS best interests and health??? their entourage is always around when these things happen???

your trying to tell that none of them are smart enough not to let their ASSET go out and kill somebody driving drunk??? no they get a little liquor/alcohol on their breath, get pulled over .02% blood/alcohol level, get there much needed PR... seems like they all do it? that being said they didn't KILL life whether it be humans or animals did they?? oh and back to lying, of course you lie to the police, until they can prove their case, but when they have the evidence & the whole 9 yards, and your still contending your innocence that's ballsy.. when you get caught red handed and lie about still, your credibility, respect, and any type of compassion for such a person is just about wiped away especially with the severity of the crimes.. :2 cents:
