Maybe you should change the name of the thread to moderator of the week
Juballs I think in the future you should choose 5 members yourself and then have a poll to see what people think, then base your decision on that. As you stated yourself there seems to be a lot of voting bias and there are people posting here who deserve some recognition who are not getting it. I was led to believe it wasn't a popularity contest rather than congratulating people for posting quality threads and posts :2 cents: :dunno:

In a way I agree with you Ludovico and this why.There are about 10 votes cast already.This I can't understand,which also ties in with why I haven't voted yet.A week is 7 days long and doesn't run from Saturday to Thursday.So I can't see how you can vote on a Thursday and the reason why is this.
You Might have 2 or 3 members your trying to pick from and You Might vote for one of them on the Thursday.But then not long after you've voted one of the others puts a really good post up that would have tipped the balance their way.But it's to late now and you can't vote for them,which means your going to do that the week after.This might be regardless of if they posted anything at all that week.So then it does became a favourite friend contest!!
the thing is that the person who wins on votes may not win MOW.
you see, that is why i like seeing all your nominations but i would also like to hear why you nominated them.
i remember one week, people were just naming people and voting was like 10-2 for one person... well i didnt pick either of those.
instead i picked jdb67 whom did a shitload of posting that week and never gets any attention.
the same will be done every week, as i will make my decision on what i see and what proof is offered behind nominations.
if people could take the time out and show some links to posts that a member has made that seperates them from other nominees, this would get my attention.
in no way is it a popularity contest although you have to admit that members who post more on here tend to be more popular and garner votes, only because they contribute in such a positive way

We don't need a poll. Juballs has picked a handful of great winners on his own, with nothing more than opinions and member nominations. I say, stick with the way it goes.

I nominated freeones because he/she's the founder of this board (as far as I know). I believe that freeones deserves some recognision for making this site and board and for creating this community. I would have liked it better if he/she had been the MotY, but freeones wasn't one of the people that could be picked. It seems only appropriate to me that freeones should be the first MotW in 2006. He/She may not post very much, but I do consider every post made by every member a symbolic post be freeones, since he/she is the one that made it possible.
