Matt Damon Says The Smartest Thing Ever...

Good for Matt... he's more educated than most of Hollywood, but still falls far short of myself or pretty much anyone I know.

So I say again, he should really STFU about politics. I don't tell him how to act...
Just what level of scholastic achievement or profession would he have to have that you would not tell him to 'STFU'?

Or is what he is saying that bothers you more then who is saying it?

So what you're saying is that because he's not in politics then he's not allowed to voice his opinion even though he is an American voter. By that statement you just basically blasted every American voter by telling them that their opinion doesn't mean anything because they are not in politics. As a voter myself who votes every year I have every right to voice my concerns over the candidates that we have to chose from. The only ones who should STFU are the people who can vote but don't.:hatsoff:

Obama claims to be a religious christian, but I see nobody questioning that

That's probably because he's made it very clear (as did Kerry in 2004) he won't let his personal religious beliefs dictate his (secular) executive actions. That's one of the main reasons I favor the democratic party over the modern republican one, which seems to have a very hard time maintaining that separation.

As far as I know Palin is a devout born-again evangelical.
If she's not I'd be very relieved to hear otherwise.

good post, mr. P

He has to say that, otherwise it's no Malibu - hollywood cocktail parties for matty. It's like extortion, OK ? Agree with the majority hollywood dope (who knows nothing about the plight of the "regular people") or be ostracized.

It's the source... I mean look, everyone has the right to their opinion, no matter what it is. But I don't walk onto a set and tell Matt Damon how to do his job, and all I'm saying is that I don't need him telling about what I know from my studies and profession.

It just irks me when people who have access to the media spout off every week on some tirade this or political cause that... just because they have a right to an opinion doesn't mean they should share every thought they get with the world because they are famous. And they always seem so Goddamn sure of themselves, liek it's never crossed their minds that they MIGHT be wrong.

End of diatribe, back to thinking happy thoughts, like nice, wet pvssy

I couldn't agree more.
I think I understand your point, I just took issue with way you phrased it.
STFU is not one of my favorite phrases to hear or read. But that's me.

Ditto that too. I tell you these celebrities are way over their head, all of sudden they know better than anyone else. Why they all sound so concern about McCain's choice like they were going to vote for him anyways...yeah right! I guess Obama would be better able to handle Putin, let's see he'll probably do it like this: "Hey Mr Putin why don't we just sit down on these bouncy pilates balls, sip some gree tea on fifthy times filtered reverse osmosis Al Gore water and hold hands and talk about our issues...did I ever told you about my times as a comunity organizer?"

Celebrities are just like you and I. And, we think that we know better than anyone else. That's exactly why threads like this get so many posts in them. We all like to share our points of view and have a friendly debate over what we think is right or wrong.

Personally, I like hearing what celebrities have to say about "important issues". Some of them are absolutely hilarious and unintelligent, while others are actually well thought out and full of good points.

The truth about Sarah Palin:

No American receives well over $3,400.00 from their Governor except Alaskan.

Sarah Palin actually gave a pipeline company 500 million dollars to jump start for a 4 billion project to build a pipeline to the lower 48 states.

and where did this 500 million come from, not to mention the other 4 billion? I thought that republicans hated taxes? isn't that what everyone criticizes obama for?

if she's giving each citizen 3 grand, that means she took much more than 3 grand collectively from them in the first place, she's not just paying them back or giving them money for free. So what do they really have to be happy about? I think they'd be happier if they just got to keep their money in the first place.

They are like me and you, yeah right...with more money, paparazzis following them all over the place, I wonder how many of them come to this forum and share their opinions...wait they almost took over myspace...so much for the upcoming performers...then there are independent movies oh wait a minute they there too...turn on the tv..oh wait they are there too...not so much like you an me, then again professional athletes, congressmen and big oil is just like us.

I love to hear celebrities share their points on how many times they are in love with Obama.

I am just waiting to see what Miley Cyrus or Hannah Montana has to say about this election? or Kim Kardashian yeah you know she got a thing for dark meat and I don't mean chicken.

Yeah let's all hear celebrities and admire on how smart and evolved they are, God why did you have to take George Carlin , Bernie Mac and Isaac??

Have you ever met and talked to a celebrity? Are you friends with any?

Every single one of them that I've met and know is extremely down to earth and just like you and I. Yes, cameras follow them around...big fucking deal. When they go home for the day, they are exactly like everyone else. Just because they make more money than the "average" person, doesn't mean they don't have common, everyday worries and opinions.

In all reality, celebrities have better "connections" than the average Joe, so I would listen to their opinions on subjects like this. I'm not saying that just because a famous person says something that you should automatically believe it, but look at the DNC for example...it was a celebrity get together for the centuries. Celebrities hang out together just like any other "click". The cheerleaders, the jocks, the computer nerds...no different.

Politicians, like it or not, are nothing more than celebrities as well, yet, we "trust" them and their opinions, just because they're called politicians and not actors, musicians or athletes.

I trust no one in this world. Celebrities yeah they got connection... and yes I have met a bunch of them when I used to drive them to the airport and get to hear the shit they talk about all of the time, same as politcians, yeah I carried their suitcases and most of them were cheap bastards except for people like Carlin who gave me one time a $21 dollar tip for taking him a piece of apple pie and even gave me his autograph and actually chatted with all sorts of "fuck this, fuck that". You know like down to earth people do, yes I kinda like the stand up routine ones that don't have no politically correctness. But the rest of them a bunch of prima donnas, I know you just defending your point on Matt's comment, but it still don't change the fact that they have worked their way into our politics so much that they actually influence people and I am about to have enough of them. I like to keep fiction away from reality, they should stick to acting and not forcing on people this "going green thing" cuz the world is warming up and all that shit they pull out of their asses...I am about to just stick to watching porn and forget about mainstream movies.

No one knew Sarah Palin a few weeks ago and all of a sudden she's considered to be qualified to be president too.

:dunno:

She's running for Vice President. Unlike B.O. who's running for President.

Again, it's pretty absurd that Damon did not even mention the non-experience of B.O., but yet he's definitely out there spewing it out about Sarah Palin.

Matt Damon should worry about his acting and not politics. His last good acting movie was good will hunting about a decade ago.

He speaks alot of sense, i think 99% of the rest of this planet feel the exact same way, because after 8 years of Bush! A McCain/Palin government is the most worrying thing for this planet, in a long while.

Lets not forget, the US is the only superpower left and the world does look to you for guidance and for them to be voted into office, is only going to make things worse not better. The middle east will only get worse, Russia will become more and more isolated and wanting its old empire back and Iran will radicalise more of its neighbours and the planet will continually dig its self deeper into the pit of shit its already covered in.

How retarded do you have to be to belive that dinosaurs lived 4 thousand years ago. Moron!!!

Good acting? Wull yeah.

Last good movie? ::points fingers at the Ocean's 11-13 movies::

Funny, lite and fluffy. Nothing great, nothing awful. Fluff. But fun! Like a spice girls CD when you're drunk. lol

I prefer listening to the Spice Girls while I'm sipping wine in a warm bubble bath. Then, when the CD gets to "2 Become 1" I like to hold the shampoo bottle like a microphone and sing to myself into the mirror.

In Turkish version of pronounciation: "Meeeeeett Deeeyyymıııııııııınnnnnnn"! Now, you heard the smartest thing that's said by Mat Damon. :)

I prefer wanking to the Spice Girls while I'm chugging colt .45 in a warm bubble bath. Then, when the 8 track gets to "2 Become 1" I like to hold the shampoo bottle stiffly and ram it into and sing to buffalo bill in the mirror before 'Putting the Lotion on it's Skin'.

Corrected. Aheh heh..

ugh.. ::banishes the mental image I had to conjure up during that::
