Mass Effect 3

It's not going to make anyone happy unless they reveal the indoctrination theory is official. There is no way to cover the biggest plot holes (Joker and your squadmates retreating, mass effect relay explosions not destroying the solar system, etc.) without coming up with more bullshit.

If they are smart they will just redo the entire ending instead of trying to put powdered sugar on a turd and trying to make it into a donut.

They need to protect their artistic integrity, though... and start on their next piece of DLC.

I still havnt seen the ending. Currently playing it. Only get to put in half hour a day if im lucky in the last month since I got it. Im at the point where I had to arm a bomb in the great hall after fighting 2 banshees. Would you say I am at least half way or 3/4 done ??

Certainly more than half way there, almost 3/4 I would think.

Good to know as much as I hate completing games in such a hurry. I have few other older games still on queue I wana squeeze in before more games are released near the end of summer. I am always playing catch up.

Just a head's up, guys:

If you are going to post spoilers for the Extended Cut, please clearly and noticably mark your post at the beginning so we can avoid anyone having the experience ruined for them. Thanks.

Well, I just finished my insanity play through and have to say it is a definite improvement. I still hope for more and there is potential for it. But like Plasma waits I'll wait til more of you guys have finished it.

(Course if anyone wants to chat about it, PM or get me on yahoo!)

Is the extendedi DLC all video or some gameplay involved ??

The DLC is most noticeable in the final scenes leading up to what is your decision in ending the war. There are several extended scenes that address some of the major plot holes in the ending, that alone was the first huge improvement. Its hard to remain vague but if you know the original ending you will be aware of what made it so frustrating, in the lead up and in how things played out.

Ultimately the last 15 minutes of gameplay remain largely the same, but the gameplay was never where the problem lay. The problem with Mass Effect 3 and what started this whole affair was the bad taste left in the mouth of the fans because of how bewildering the short abrupt ending was. It made no sense and in the grand scheme of things actually caused more problems than it solved.

I chose the same ending I had before and was pleasantly surprised by what happened. The original ending literally, much to the disappointment of my other half had me almost frothing at the mouth with anger. This however was actually very satisfying and once you actually come to see what I'm talking about, realise that for perhaps an extra 20 minutes worth of content tidied things up nicely. How Bioware thought the original ending was fit to ship is a miracle. Their reputation has been severely tarnished because of this and what amazes me most is that the DLC is actually so simple in how it extends the ending, that why they couldn't do it in the first place is beyond me.

If the ending hadn't improved my copy of ME3 would have been on ebay or on its way to the trade in counter on Amazon, but I can actually bring myself to play it again knowing that the series ending on a far more enjoyable note. I do have plans to play it again, I only need 3 achievements and hopefully if rumours are true the ending might expand further as well as the game play in between.

In fact I think I hear a new femshep calling out!

What ill do is play through the original version first and keep a save point before the ending. Then ill get the DLC and load from that point to see the changes. Still just curious to see the original bad endings.

Just finished replaying the final moments with my Paragon Shep and I chose the same ending that I had before. Loved the added moments that filled in the plot holes. I clapped when the credits rolled. Good job Bioware!

You don't have to, when the game ends it automatically takes you to the point where the DLC kicks in. So play through it normally, see the shit endings, download the new stuff and reload your save file - Everything should follow on normally!

They at least explained the endings better.

...It's just that the endings themselves sucked.

I'll stick to what I said on my post before this one here.

What is your perfect ending then?

(I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely curious!)

I just finished the campaign with the new DLC Ending, still doesn`t answer my one question: WHY IS THE CATALYST THE FUCKING LITTLE BOY!!!!!

If you followed the indoctrination theory on youtube, the little boy never actually existed. Sadly for the sake of the now canon DLC ending, we have to assume he was in fact real.

My personal assumption was simply that haunted with the image of the little boy dying and the recurring nightmares, the catalyst chose to use the image of the little boy as a means of connecting with Shephard. Its not an unfair assumption they would have the tech to read his mind given they are able to control and manipulate, so why not read it as well. The choice Shephard has to make would ultimately be the redemption and salvation of organics, so relating the little boy to the situation could be a means of relating the two.

The catalyst would need a form Shephard could understand, it would have been just plain weird if Ashley or Kaiden were the ones to converse with at the end. Sort of a ghosts of the past type moment, appearing as a pre-prothean would add something else that would have needed explaining. (Remember they conveniently skipped over who created the Reapers citing not enough time)

There will always be unanswered questions, but hopefully some of the still to be released DLC will fill in blanks.

Thank you For explaining it to me.

From my understanding, there is no canon ending until Bioware comes out and says that there is. The ending is literally what ever you choose for your character. The only people saying that there is a canon ending are the fans.
