The honest answer from me is that while I liked the highlights at first because it was a change, there have been times when it hasn't looked as good to me just because there's no way for it to have been done exactly the same each time and sometimes it didn't seem to turn out as good, and that I think you look best with a solid hair color, no matter what that color may be as proven by the wigs you've worn. Plus, while I've always been attracted to blondes and married one, brunettes have kind of been a guilty pleasure for me, so to me, I would prefer to see you without the highlights and as a pure brunette.
That being said, the correct answer is whatever you (and to a lesser extent whatever your boytoy) want to do with your hair, Mandy. I would never had said any of that had you not asked our opinion, and obviously it hasn't been too off-putting to me, so I'll still love you either way.
