Man, We Are Getting CRUSHED By Rain Today

Las Vegas is getting bitch-slapped by an all day rain storm. Just took a 30 minute asskicking, complete with hail (small hail though), and had the power go out for a couple minutes.

For anyone unfamiliar with the desert southwest, if you ever visit, STAY OUT OF THE RAIN!!! In other words, stay off the roads. Even with the "drainage ditches" that they installed here, there was road flooding in places all over town today. This shit is dangerous and to be avoided. And with this latest downpour, I'm hearing one siren after another.

I hope Ace is OK and off the road.

I lived in the Pacific NW for a number of years, where rain is a way of life. But here in Vegas, and I also lived in El Paso, TX a while back, the rain has nowhere to go. And this causes problems for people not used to it, including death. Roads turn into rivers, low spots turn into lakes, and people in cars turn into corpses.

So like I said, if you find yourself in the desert during on of these storms, stay off the roads. It's not worth it. Either you'll do a number on yourself, or the person in the other car will do it for you.

I am surprised and touched by your concern. Thank you. I drove as little as possible because people here drive like morons in good weather. Last year, when we had a couple inches of snow it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
