That is fucked up!
How messed up was she that her husband of 40 years didn't even recognize her?

Forgive my insensitivity, but what the fuck was she doing walking across the sliproad of a motorway?

Re: Man helps stranger from a car accident, learns 10 minutes later it's his dying wi

That's pretty much the definition of tragedy.

I cant think of the term youd use, but effectively its the access road to the motorway itself, where you would merge from if you wanted on. i.e fast moving cars and lots of em!

The term(s) would be 'Access Lane', 'Feeder Road', 'Access Road' ... :D :hatsoff:

My reaction if I was sitting next to a family member in their final moments and I didnt know it was them = Extreme regret. OPEN YER FRIGGIN' EYES!

That's tragedy. Maybe, it's better for him this way then sitting at home and getting the bad news from a police officer. At least he was there for her, unfortunately, it didn't help.

The most important woman in the world right next to him and he doesnt even pay attention. There are two jokes to be made about that..

First.. Obviously he's been married a very, VERY long time if he can ignore her that well! ;)

Secondly.. if he's that oblivious to his woman, he didnt deserve her. Especially for that long. Pay some attention to her!

For those who are ridiculing and chastising this poor man for not immediately recognizing his wife, please pay greater detail and attention to the article:

A husband today told how he held a drip attached to the dying victim of a car crash - unaware that the woman was his wife.

James Peters stopped to help paramedics when he saw a pedestrian had been hit by a car at the spot where he usually picked up 60-year-old wife Susan.

It was only when he was passed the victim's handbag that he realised the victim was the woman he had been married to for 40 years.
car accident

Mrs Peters' injuries were so severe that her husband, also 60, helped at the scene for almost 10 minutes before he realised what had happened to the mother of his three sons.

Think about it ...

She had apparently just gotten off the bus, was walking along the access road, and was struck by a car at a fairly high rate of speed ... OF COURSE SUCH AN ACCIDENT IS GOING TO CAUSE SEVERE INJURIES AND DAMAGE.

Let's be a bit more compassionate and allow this gentleman the generosity of our empathy, compassion, and concern rather than making snide remarks and posting jokes about his inability to recognize his wife. Bad form, people ... bad form and extremely poor taste in "jokes".

:hatsoff:

My version of 'looking on the bright side of things' means thinking of the lighter side of life.. like comedy. I hope someone else laughs with me, sure.. but my laugh is present and accounted for. I'll never get an answer from the guy, and a week from now this post will be on page 20 and noone will care anymore.

I aim to be the guy who lightens the mood a little bit or moves the conversation a little to the side.. I wouldnt want people to simply post their sad feelings on the matter.. this thread isnt meant to be a 'graveyard'!

I have plenty of respect for the dead, but the dead can be some weird, funny fuckers. ;)

on-ramp or off-ramp? For like an interstate maybe? Yea, it would be pretty stupid to walk across there.

Re: Man helps stranger from a car accident, learns 10 minutes later it's his dying wi

aw man, that is fucking heartbreaking... also, this only happened a few miles from my house! i feel for this guy i really do.

good for him for helping out, even though at the time he didnt know who she was!

Two things;

1) in this thread, people are saying he should of noticed it was his wife: imagine your wife being so fucked up in the face you didnt know it was her... yeah... horrible right? would you be happy knowing people thought you were stupid?

2) also, drivers on and around the M25 are some of the most idiotic drivers you will ever meet, this woman could have been crossing safely and it was purely the drivers fault, dont PRESUME she was the one in the wrong

Sad story. I can only imagine what it must have been like AFTER he found out it was his wife. He must have felt so helpless.
