Live Jasmin popups!

Don't they know popups make people stay away from your product.

You know what, Will? I'm with you on this. When I see pop up windows, I take mental note of who sponsored the popups, and I avoid them like the plague. I'm getting close to killing my netflix account because of this, actually.

Good for you then that NAMBLA doesn't have pop-ups I guess.
I am rolling on the floor laughing my ass off.

Yeah this is probably on yahoo answers but I am feeling lazy and would rather post here. Anyway so what happens on a majority of adult sites (mostly ones that do not require a membership) is before I even do anything a popup window comes up advertising some adult material or another. Other times if I am on a tube site I click the play button and a separate window comes up. This happens multiple times a day and is very frustrating:bang:. I think this has something to do with blocking cookies but I really have no idea and may be how they make money and is impossible to block them. Please I am very interested to know!

Open your 'hosts' file, usually system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Add the following

Code:
127.0.0.1 creatives.livejasmin.com
127.0.0.1 www*creatives.livejasmin.com
127.0.0.1 livejasmin.com
127.0.0.1 www*livejasmin.com
127.0.0.1 www.livejasmin.com

Problem solved.

If I try that I'll probably destroy my computer.
can you please explain it with a little more step by step detail?
thanks.

Haha... I was thinking along the same lines when I saw that. I suppose some might just jump in and try it though.

It's pretty straightforward and you can rollback the changes anytime you wish.

Here is some basic info.

The hosts file is a computer file used in an operating system to map hostnames to IP addresses.

Specially crafted entries in the hosts file may be used to block online advertising, or the domains of known malicious resources and servers that contain spyware, adware, and other malware. This may be achieved by adding entries for those sites to redirect requests to another address that does not exist or to a harmless destination.

Here are some step by step instructions.

That last link had some nice screens which helped guide me. The only question I have is when I try to save host file (which I was editing in notepad) it wont let me. Can you please provide a little direction. I have attached screen of what mine looks like as well.

You might need to change the file properties, right click and change the host file from Read-Only.

Also, its better to use 127.0.0.1, it refers to your own machine and there would be no further lookups unlike using an IP address.

Ok I did as you said accountant. Changed my ip and added full security rights to my user and saved. Glad you caught the ip thing before the image was taken down. Now to go and hopefully prove you right. Thanks for the help!

Quick edit: I just went and tried at the first two sites that have been known to cause problems and the first one being a tube site was fine. The second was an image hosting site which the first time a popup came up. So my question is now how do I add new popup to the list (or any other future ones)? And trying that image hosting site a second time it brought up a live jasmin pop up however it said the page cannot be displayed. Is this how is is supposed to work?

My new favorite hobby is seeing how fast I can get kicked out of those chats. The 3rd world country women take a lot of shit.

The popup will still show but it will be a blank homepage. Since popup blockers miss these sites, this is the most handy workaround other than using Noscript.

Anytime you want to block another site, just add its domain name like the previous example and redirect it to 127.0.0.1.

cant you just set your browser to block all pop-ups?
if you need to open a link just right click then choose open in new tab or window
it's what i do cause i cannot stand advertising throwing crap in my face:facepalm:
