Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan?

Seeing as a bit of debate was going on after Kobe's 81 point game. I figured why not a poll and a thread for debating over who you think is the better player.

kobe can score points, but he can't lead a team to a championship. Shaq lead the team when they won three straight, not kobe. yeah he scored 81 points, but it was against Toronto. He can't put up big numbers against a big time team under pressure. Jordan did it against the Celtics and against Larry Legend in the Boston Garden.

The most points scored by an individual in an NBA game is 100, by Wilt Chamberlain, when he played for the Philadelphia 76ers against the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962.

Chamberlain scored more than either one. It will take Kobe much more than points per game to be better than MJ.

MJ is an all around player. He's Offence, defense and leadership. Kobe is still amazing but he will be nothing mroe than a shooting gaurd, MJ has assists, blocks, steals, he can drive and shoot. Mj is with out a doubt better than kobe.

MJ is probably the best gaurd to play the game on offense and defense. I would take 23 any day over Kobe. That being said Kobe is still a fine player and is fun to watch but, MJ no question.

81 points in a single game is amazing, i dont care what team its against, toronto raptors suck, yeah, but they are still an NBA team, but michael jordan, in my opinion is the best player ever, basketball wise that is, hats off to kobe, but im going with mj on this one

I knew it would be a one way poll, but some might have decent arguments as to why they would pick Kobe.



Something else to ponder. At his current pace, will Kobe become better than MJ and surpass his legacy, or will the hype not last?

Even if Kobe finishes his career with more points. That's just what they are, just points... MJ was a more complete player, he was a leader and on top of all that he was much less controversial (sp?) than Kobe is !

this question almost doesn't even deserve an answer. kobe doesn't even deserve to mentioned in the same sentence as michael. no one will ever be equal to jordan.

The game is changed from when MJ was at his peak and now. Hand checking is no longer allowed on defense which back in Jordan's day was the only way to even slow him down. In today's game Jordan would have been even more dominate.
