Here's some of the girl's side of the story:

I also respect policemen. They have a very dangerous job but this was absolutely uncalled for hitting her and pulling her hair like he did. He should be fired....
You know what, fuck it...
I say let the cops execute people on the damn streets. I know you haven't seen the shit, but I sure have, makes people follow the laws by compliance. Nothing better than biscuits and (oh shit bob jaywalked again.... *bam* .45 ACP to the head...) brains all over my face.
I think full blown para-militarizing our cops is a great concept... worked for these countries, why not ours...
IRAQ
CHINA
Soviet Union
Wait i got a better idea, let's give the cops the fucking credit they deserve, because all they deal with is people breaking laws (yes you speed, you broke the fucking law). Are drug dealers militarizing, hell yeah they are.... I say give police APC's, and Bradleys, and hell give the FBI, F-16's and Apache's.... Let them take full effect of going out and touching someone.
You want protection, it comes at a price, civil liberties (I sure hope not, but I don't know everybody's values), someone Else's blood/sweat, or even money... simple as that. my :2 cents: give the cops all the damn fire power they need, and let them kill/capture drug leaders and blatant violators of the law (to include jaywalkers, fuck them too). Hell, look at California, they have a super influx of inmates... wonder why... it is because they have good cops?
You think the law is stupid, call your local representative, and get the law changed... that simple (it's called a bill)... till then quit bitching if you smoke weed, or jaywalk and get busted....
fired my ass....if that was my child...he may get fired in hell...cause thats where he would go...i would rent me a uhaul....and drive it thru his house....if they would like a real video :thefinger
this kid was 15 years old....no 15 year old should be hit in the head by a fist from a grown man??? you kidding? hes a lucky man...if that was my child...he just paid for him a ticket to hell....blev that!!!!!!!!!he cant wear that police suit all time.....i would like to see if the pussy could do a man that way :thefinger
I also respect policemen. They have a very dangerous job but this was absolutely uncalled for hitting her and pulling her hair like he did. He should be fired....
I respect them also as do 'most' citizens, but there are many more dangerous jobs. In fact Policeman don't even make CNN's Top Ten Most Dangerous Jobs list :
http://money.cnn.com/2007/08/07/pf/2006_most_dangerous_jobs/index.htm
The above lists doesn't even include military service which would certainly fall into the top ten before cops.
Fishermen:hatsoff: Hats off to them I love seafood.
Pilots
Loggers
Iron/steel workers
Refuse collectors
Farmers/Ranchers
Power lineman
Roofers
Drivers- I still own my CDL's
Ag workers
Yes he should be fired & I know it can be streesful & dangerous at times ,but that is no excuse for a harmless shoe fling.
Police officers go to work, every single day, with the possibility of death. Statistically, there are more "dangerous" jobs, but in all reality, police officers have an extremely dangerous job.
I know that you, personally, didn't come up with that list, but...
Those jobs are statistically dangerous for various reasons though and should never be compared to being a police officer. For instance...
Police officers go to work, every single day, with the possibility of death. Statistically, there are more "dangerous" jobs, but in all reality, police officers have an extremely dangerous job.
The comparison is valid. Those other jobs, where the risks don't typically involved someone trying to kill the person, hold a greater risk of death or serious injury. Putting the "but" between "statistically" and "in all reality" isn't legit. Reality is shown by the stats. Yes, sure, police officers have an extremely dangerous job. (Has someone denied that?) Nonetheless, the other jobs are MORE dangerous.
Truck Drivers/Fisherman/Roofers go to work every single day as well with an even greater possibility of death. Be it accidental or intentional. I said that cops do have a high stress job ,but the actual danger compared to other jobs is relatively low.
Truck Drivers attempting to make deliveries in awful traffic, bad weather & under a deadline have stressful jobs also as proven by road rage violence. Some Drivers (when I delivered) even have threatened to intentionally run over the next SOB who flips them off, cuts them off, curses them out etc.....,.
That is a stressful /dangerous job dude & it is a valid comparison. More dangerous than a cop actually & the numbers bear this out.
Not taking away from the stress of a cops job ,however, nor the perceived danger cops feel sometimes when actually none is there. Like in the video.
Fact is most of the guys mentioned above have far less of a chance of returning to their families at night than cops & they know this.
I will say this again though...the numbers only tell a very small part of the story.
I already made the argument about drivers, so I won't repeat myself.
Just because a job is stressful doesn't make it any more dangerous than other jobs. I have a stressful job, but I'll never claim that I have a dangerous job.
I also made the point to reference the differences between different types of danger, so I won't repeat that either.
I will say this again though...the numbers only tell a very small part of the story.
That's right - the truthy part.
It seems to me you are arguing against yourself or no one since I don't see one post that says cops don't have a stressful/ dangerous job.:dunno:
You said that cops could potentially not come home at night when the fact is there are far more jobs that are more dangerous than US cops. Period.
Fact is there are far more actual jobs that possess an On Duty hazard to life/health to its employees than being a cop. Indisputable.
I just don't think that you can compare the danger of "I could fall off a boat while I'm at work" to "I can get shot while I'm at work". Obviously, falling off a boat isn't the only thing that could kill you on a fishing boat; I'm just making a point.
I never said that anybody claimed that police officers didn't have a dangerous job. In fact, everybody has been saying otherwise.

Sure you can. They both can result in death...
What argument are you making? Dead is dead. Whether it is a truck driver whom has to be scooped from the wreckage with a spoon after a horrendous wreck, a power line worker getting cooked like a rotisserie chicken at KFC, being washed out to sea as shark bait, etc...., dead is dead. (Actually being fried on a power line & some other forms of death in other professions is far more scary than taking a bullet to many I bet.)
What is your position? Cops are more dead than the other professions which are obviously & indisputably more dangerous:dunno:
Mine is that while cops do have a dangerous job there are far more dangerous positions to be had than a US cop & it is really ,undeniably indesputable. They leave home everyday with a reasonably larger fear than cops that they may not come home at night & it does not excuse cops behavior . Especially beating down 15 year old girls.
If you're going to use the argument that a death is a death, than you would have to say that eating is extremely dangerous because you could choke and die.
Police officers leave their home with the fear of being shot and killed, even during a "routine" traffic stop. How is that less of a fear than anything else?
Eating isn't a job (well, unless you're a restaurant critic - and the danger is a visit to Chef's place! hahaha - just kidding ).
Sure, officers might leave home knowing they could be killed, but if the fear is overwhelming for them, they probably shouldn't be cops. They could always take heart in the fact that they'd be more likely to die if they were a commercial fisherman.
