Hi guys, I'm Phad, and I'm taking over karisweets.com for Felix.
I've been writing at length to members this week on the Site News Blog, but I wanted to drop a shorter note here and touch base with those that follow Kari, but might not still have a membership. I've redesigned the site, and made some improvements that I think were much needed.
Every video can now be streamed, or downloaded.
Stream it, or save it.
The site is now mobile friendly (we're still working out the kinks for the lastest iOs).
New content, as well as those hot remasters and re-edits that started coming out this year have all been organized into a special area: The Ultimate Collection.
When Felix first opened the gates on this unreleased and re-released content this year, I found it it really cool, but I could see how for a collector it would be kind of confusing. Galleries that had extra content were sometimes called “Part II”, even though some pictures seemed familiar. If pictures were once released before at a smaller size, but this time were published at full-size they've been called “XD Re-Releases”. If they were re-released without any photoshopping, they were called “Unedited and Untouched”, and if they’d never been seen before it was called “lost pics”. If the videos were re-sized or cropped to more resemble high definition video, they were named “HD re-edits” or “uncut”. Long story short, there were a lot of terms used, and since the CMS within the site broke it wasn’t always obvious where to track them all down between the index, video gallery, or chatbox.
Moving forward with the old and the new, I’d like to keep new stuff concisely organized and bring it all together into one collection and one area: The Ultimate Collection.
I was entrusted with an encrypted drive containing Felix's entire life's work.
This thing actually self destructs if it's screwed with. It terrifies me.
This digital vault contains not only unreleased Kari Sweets content, but treasure troves of shoots and planned sites for numerous other new models, all of it shot with that look and style that is unmistakably tied to Kari Sweets.
Felix moved on with other pursuits in life some years ago, but still dropped in periodically to talk to the fans, and hinted at possible updates or future sites that never seemed to materialize for years on end. That frustrated and annoyed Kari fans. I understand that, and I want to leave those days behind.
I'm going to go through this drive and discover what's in the vault at the same rate that the fans do. I won't do any teasing or foreshadowing to unnecessarily string you along. I'll just crack open a set or a video, work to get it ready, and add it as an update. I want to make it easy to reach me if needed, and the plans for the site transparent. So what next?
The vault is open and the Ultimate Collection is ready to begin.
There is an overwhelming amount of content to choose from, all organized by the cameras it was shot on, and then within those directory structures, the memory card it was imported from.
“No. Words. To describe it.”
As far as picking what happens next, I want to hear from the fans. If you have a favorite set or video you want me to hunt down and remaster for the Ultimate Collection next, tell me. The best way to get my attention quickly is to tweet at me.
“Hey Phad. You are a bundle of sticks.”
When requesting a set, include a picture to identify it, or the name of the gallery on the website. I'll be regularly taking one of these public suggestions for the next one, and making an addition to the Ultimate Collection. Starting this Monday!

New people took over and redesigned the site. There was also an update today.
I posted a long explanation, but Connor Macleoud deleted it until I proved my identity to an admin instead of a mod (him). I talked with Adam today and he said it'd get straightened out, so hopefully it'll get restored.

This update is a remastering of a set called “Red Hearts”. The original set was released by the photographer with 57 total pictures, with the dimensions of 1600x1067 pixels.
Here is a folder view of the entire raw set, which contained 130 pics, numbered from 1452-1581. Out of those 130, I kept 118. You can see a red “X” over those pics that were scrapped. The few I cut were test shots or bloopers or blurry. I did not cut any pictures for being too revealing.
130 total pics, 118 made the cut.
This Ultimate Collection release has twice the pictures as the gallery did the first time around, and the pictures are 3000 pixels wide on the longest side.
So enough talk about the stats. What did we find?
