The little bitch turns 18 and decides she doesn't want to live by the rules at home so she leaves. She tells the state about abuse. The investigation reveals that her abuse was having her phone and Xbox taken away. Do some house chores and making her dump her loser boyfriend. She has been staying with a friend whose father happens to be a lawyer. She is suing for the last semester of her private school tuition, college fund, living and travel expenses. Judge tell the precious little flower she is entitled to nothing. Finally a victory for parents.

Our little snowflake has a history. At 15 her friend's parents (her lawyer) had parties with booze for the kids. Her dad had to pick her up while she was puking. Her boyfriends parents had been dumping her back home drunk after dates. She was tossed out of her homecoming dance for smelling drunk and planning an after party at her friend's (lawyer's) house. I commend dad for not punching this lawyer in the face in the past. She's got to giving her parents shit like, "My friends are allowed to drink and stay out late, I hate you." She wants new parents, now she has them. Let them clean up her puke.

Without knowing more information about the story, the circumstances everything happened in, and the whole thing in context it's hard to figure out if her parents were being harsh or if she's just being dumb. It could be a little of both. I wouldn't be surprised if somehow both of them weren't at least a little morally or ethically in the wrong.

Regardless, she has absolutely no case here, and rightly so. (baring the existence of some contract she actually had with her parents [yes contracts can be verbal if you can somehow prove them although minors can't normally take part in them either]) If the courts somehow found in her favor I would be shocked by the president it set of being able to sue your parents because they won't take care of you past your age of adulthood.

Here is a slippery slope. If the parents set up a fund for her education, how much and in what form is she entailed to? What are the conditions of this fund? If she thinks she gets the whole check upon her whim then there is a serious challenge there. Declaring emancipation must have repercussions.
