Joe Biden?

He's a poor choice for a running mate, especially from a party that has Clinton and Edwards. He's not hurting Obama's campaign, but he's not exactly helping. The whole ticket is getting by on Jesus - I mean, Obama's popularity, and Biden really just seems to be there to stand in the background and nod politely.

And hell, he's certainly doing better then Palin is. As long as he does better then her, it shouldn't matter. The real test for him will come when he takes office.

I'd much rather have a guy that does what needs to be done effectively in office, instead of just going out there and trying to put on a show to win public approval in a popularity contest.

I don't know if bidden fits that bill, exactly... but let's just say I have more confidence than his opponent.

It's funny...when I think of McCain, I always think of how crappy of a running mate that Sarah Palin is. When I think of Obama though, I don't even really remember that he even has a running mate.

It seems he's doing fine at the moment. Heard both the pro's and con's about Biden, seems to support some issues many don't support; but runs with the majority. Nothing in comparison of Palin though!

Hmm. Never really thought about that, but you're right on.

Biden is fucking up right and left, it's the fact that Obamessiah believers don't wanna see how awful Biden is.
I refer to his recent misstatements, and errors in fact...his statement to Katy Couric about how Roosevelt gave a great speech to the people during the Great Depression by coming on TV and calming the populaces fear's... Hey Joe...newsflash...Hoover was the President, actually, and there wasn't any TV then. Duh...what a total dufus.

Facetious

He's a guy whom the dnc would wish that he keep his big mouth shut because he causes controversy within the democratic party - i.e. his comment about how he believes that hillary would have been the better choice for vp certainly has pissed off the handlers in the dnc, in fact, I haven't seen hide nor hare or ''hair'' for that matter lol ! of the man since said comment lol !)

Biden has two politically influential sons, one being a state atty general, if I recall correctly and the other being a somewhat controversial lobbyist. Another family of @#$^ attorneys. :(

He's known as a proponent of massive government and has been affixed to his seat in the senate for 35 + years.

He'd probably be an interesting guy to chat with at a cocktail party. :D

I agree . . . but help me out on the "Jesus" part of the statement.

Is Biden helping or hurting Obama's campaign?

We will only KNOW after the first VP debate(10/2) right?:dunno: Palin has refused to speak to the media/public other than PEP Rallies. Biden was picked to help a little with Blue collar Whites in Appalachia & time will only tell if they will accept Obama/Biden.

I actually quite like Bidden, I caught one of his speaches on FOX News (only american news station we get here ) and he seems very knowledgeable and in touch with reality unlike his opponents.

Whether or not he is hurting Obamas campaign or not I dont know, we dont get that much coverage over here. But from what I hear and read on here even if he does hurt Obamas campaign, McCain seems to be single handedly killing his campaign so no worries.

Some of the people in this thread act like the Veep is responsible for atleast 15 points in the poll returns. Do we give Biden credit for the 9pt uptick in the polls for Obama/Biden this week or do we give more of the credit to McCain/Palin's incompetence?

Biden was a great choice for Obama. He gives Obama "experience" to the ticket and would be an acceptable standin if a tragedy befells President Obama. Biden was the first Senator to offer up the Tri-partate solution to Iraq which, once we actually leave that country, is the solution they are moving toward now....Biden was talking about that idea back in 2004 and it looks very smart today....

Since McCain can only do one(1) thing at a time & he is too busy SINGLEHANDEDLY saving the country with a trillion dollar bailout, I say Biden/Palin should debate in Oxford MS Friday to prove their 'readiness' to step in as PREZ.
:dunno:

You will then see Biden's value to this campaign. As long as Palin is allowed to hide & CRAM for her debate on the second Biden is sidelined also.

Biden has had to put his foot in the mouth, but is like no one cares. I think he's a typical politician, lots of experience in how the system works and that's why Obama picked him as vp.

There's a nasty rumor that Obama's letting him mess up a lot in interviews so that way he drops him and chooses Hillary, now hows that for an October surprise?

If Obama would have chosen Hillary instead of Biden this election would have been the massacre of the Republicans, interesting to see how this turns out.
