And it is patently false why? Because you say so? You must have a gross misunderstanding of how American media works.
There are 8 stages to genocide and we're already past the third one with regards to moslems, dehumanization.

'I-know-better' attitude has brought us this far, where we don't even recognize the humanitarian rules in general. We recognize it in the context where I myself get benefited out of it. No truth can be same for any of us. Even the humanitarian rules. I will shout at China & Iraq but will clap when my country does the same in another country and call it valor of my soldiers.
We have become so much two-faced in dealing with truth that it has become natural to us. We always use two different sets of criteria to value things. One applicable for me the other for others. I don't know, whether the link http://www.truthnews.us/?p=1951 is proclaiming the truth, you and some others may understand better.
But that speaks about the differential view of recognizing the humanitarian trends. It will be justified saying "strange situation demands strange measures" and oft repeated "Good for the majority." and in the next breath we will get down to street, shouting against another nation for implementing the same measures.
That is what is called hypocrisy, other wise We all do have the right to 'say so'.

I think you're confusing the concept that the US media is built on rating as it compete for advertising dollars, and they thrive on conflict. That's why 75% of Americans tune out their own media.
It's also why the most racist and sexist industry in the US is the media, and why most everyone associated with it (or the 25% of Americans consumed with it) are out-of-touch with reality.
I think Bill Clinton had the correct strategy for dealing with the media, say one thing, do another, deny it, privately threatened to shut them out. It worked and got a lot of things done. Especially Contract with America (where everything passed in Congress, and only the Balanced Budget Amendment was prevented from making it to the people).
Talk like a liberal, act like a conservative, deny you are a conservative, pay lip service to alleged moderates, and let the right-wing attack you -- which is makes people think you're a liberal.
