The thing is, this will ultimately tie in with the internet filter that will eventually be introduced to us Aussies

. They'll never stop p2p entirely, but they will make it very difficult for bit******* and other internet usage (such as playing playstation/xbox/pc games online). Our internet speeds are dire compared to the rest of the world, if a filter is put in place.... we'll go slower than a snail. It would be like going back to 56k (or worse 14.4 - 28.8k modems)...... but still using cable

.
The actual argument they used when suing was useless, the judge was top notch to see through their weak argument. Also the isp that was sued, is not a "top tier" isp - it's basically a second level company (they do offer a better service - in terms of monthly gb allowance).
They knew that they would not have a chance against the top tier level isps.
In the end it is the right result, but it will eventually be back ended into the "naughty" filter.
