Is this forum dying?

I don't think of this forum as dying but just becoming more intimate. There are a core group of fellas I enjoy on the board and a few internet dingleberries that are easy to sidestep. If the high falootin' porno ladies leave the board we just need a source to find dirty pictures of them eating the white stuff.

I know this is probably not the only reason but could it be that more people are using mobiles and tablets these days and not finding it as easy to navigate to Freeones with these devices? I've just tried accessing the Freeones Forum on my phone and it took me a few attempts to find it from the homepage. Maybe easier access and better layout on mobile devices would bring more people to the board.
I know with SEO and Google rankings, if you've got a more mobile friendly site which is easier to navigate, it bumps you up the rankings Could the marketing of Freeones have any effect on the people coming here and staying here? I dont know! :dunno:

I guess some members have also moved on from the forum because of life changes as well, whatever they may be

I remember when I joined back in 2009 the board was a lot livelier than it is now. I think if there are more people on the board bouncing more ideas, views and topics around it you will generally get more of a dynamic community and interest if that makes sense :)

That's my 2p worth anyway lol :)
Ya, the mobile version sucks IMO. After I post a text wall I get a 408 error message on my phone and it won't let me back page. I think staff has limited me to 50 characters or less and I don't blame them LOL. Seriously tho, the mobile version sucks BBC. :dunno:

I change my mobile setting to view desktop and I have it as if I am on my desktop. I couldn't handle mobile format.

Where you responding to a reported post when you deleted every comment in tvstrips thread? Premium Link Upgrade

Just wondering because it was an active thread with many comments regarding the OP. Did it belong in the P&R area? No, probably not. It probably would have been a better idea to move it to the sports section before deleting posts. It would have been easier just to move it too, less clicks. J/S ;)
.
Yes it was a reported post. And, answer this: How does anyone going in the Politics section, reading that thread title, and that first post, and they come to the conclusion that the thread is about hockey?

The reports were on thread hijacking and that was why it was moderated. Also, the OP never asked that it be moved.

Connor Macleod is an excellent college football moderator. just keeping it positive.
Thank you and, has anyone started a thread for 2018 yet?

here's a morbid possibility: what if those 75,000 users who dropped off the board just died?
A mini-"rapture"?

First, there was more than one report.

Second, maybe a few members deciphered whatever that guy was on about, but hockey is just not very popular in the US.

Georges has his opinions but he doesn’t seem to target or use his moderating tools to go after people that disagree with him. In fact, he is insulted and ****** and ridiculed regularly and he doesn’t seem to retaliate except with a passing comment. Like you said, moderators have opinions and they express them. A political opinion is going to draw more attention and criticism than which chick is prettier.
Anyway, you seem to moderate behind the scenes and are even handed. Can’t ask for more than that.

I prefer a constructive and argumentative debate rather than anything else especially in P&R. People who can prove something with facts instead of bickering or someone getting mad at you because your opinion is different from theirs, is much more interesting and elevates the debate to another level. In politics far more than any other subforum, it is impossible to agree with everyone on everything. I have a very thick and hard skin despite all the flak I am taking. You have to make abstraction on the attacks on you and act with tact and diplomacy. And in a debate , you can have the upper hand by repeatedly asking your spokesperson in the negative interrogative form the same questions that he asks you.

Yes, I remember the 80's and 90's well. Procomm boards and pirated software was everywhere. You only had to know the right people, and I knew a lot of them.

Years ago, I was on a forum that was even more popular than FreeOnes at it's highest. The admins on the other board decided to try the same experiment, but with a difference. No bans, no deletes, no edits, no ignores. Just say whatever you want without repercussions. I rarely posted, and officially quit when the member count dropped below 1,000. And, when I joined FreeOnes, the other board's member count had dropped to less than 100.

So, I have to agree with Supafly's comment about your post, "That is the most ignorant answer in this thread yet."

Yeah... Go back and read post #7.
I have been a member of one the worst automobile forums of the planet, it was supercars.net before it adopted an entirely new format back two years ago. There was absolutely no moderation, slandering and name calling all the time and the moderators on supercars.net even attacked members. At the very beginning, there used to be nearly 50000-60000 but over the years, the numbered declined significantly because the forum format was only made to be compatible IE6, there was no https link with 256 encryption and it wasn't even compatible with mobile devices or tablets. Several members including some of the greatest posters on sc net left. In 2015, total number of sc net was almost 100 active members if not less.
Yes, things have changed here too but we have to adapt.

And if the user base drops to 10,000 (or lower), we adapt, how?

I thought the ultimate purpose of this board was making money thru advertising. I don't seem to understand the mentality of how to do that when you your user base is shrinking and you're not doing anything to change that.

That is the most ignorant answer in this thread yet. Let us just think about the legal perspective. If ALL os fair, this place would be offline on day three, of not a day earlier. You KNOW how many people just can't keep their cool, and threads would develop into open fire in no time.

And this is a place to be around people from the broad spectrum of the erotic industry. You think they would stay around with madmen on the loose, with zero control?

You obviously have never worked as an admin or moderator

Excellent just the ridiculous answer I was expecting. Grow a pair please.

Explain to me why are you a Moderator? You exhibit zero skill for such a role.

I watched a lot of NWA World Championship Wrestling when I was a ***, of the many profound things uttered by one Nature Boy Ric Flair, one gem, among many, that I remember well, simply stated, "If you want a clean room you have to clean your room! WOOOO!!!", seems apropos.

I guess it's safe to say you probably never have or will be in charge of making staff decision anywhere

You are clearly incorrect. People base too many things on what goes on in this forum and what we all get up to in real life. Shame on you for being so stupid.
