I've considered that possibility. I'm surrounded by four national forests in the heart of deep east texas. It's possible for city people to find my plot, but not probable. The nearest "big" city is Tyler and it's seventy miles away. Most likely the urban dwellers fleeing from the city would end up in the house I'm in right now. They wouldn't be able to hole up here for more than a week or two. This area is nothing but forests. That's why it's called the Piney Woods. My plot blends in with the dense thicket that surrounds it for miles. The roads and highways here are nothing but old logging trails that got paved over. If you got lost in these woods with no survival skills you wouldn't last very long.

Even if they had an alternative, which they don't, it would not be widely available to help for many years.

I have. There's plenty of oil. We need to drill for it.
