It's seem to me that everything gets worse and worse, take Christmas for instance, before in the 90's and the 80's everyone was religious, we had big ass feast of foods and THE BEST CHRISTMAS TV SPECIALS! But now it's like people like atheist celebrating Christmas which in my opinion is religiously backwards, the big feast is now a weight watchers seminar where people tell you whats not healthy and the number of crabs I mean, carbs you get from it, not to mention the childish fear people get when people eat the food thinking it contains the "next salmonella" or that a terrorist organization group has poisoned there food, yeah they really care about what happens to your turkey, the same thing with Halloween and all kids have for Christmas is really annoying sing-a-longs by bad Disney Channel Actors & Actresses turned horrible musicians, a least our specials had meaning, now it's just to show the attractive younger generation. Just had to get this off my chest.

Christmas Is a Christian Holiday, just like Hanukkah & Kwanzaa but, this Is America and people can do what ever they want, but however you put it, it still doesn't change the fact.
I like that.
Now its really about money with most families who buys who the most expensive gifts. I miss watching for like a week nothing but Christmas movies on TV. The food my family use to make. Now most of them just go buy something. No one cooks from scratch anymore.

I guess what you are saying is holidays like Christmas have lost alot of its tradition. Now it's all about materialism and doing your own thing. I know for me my inlaws haven't got together for any holiday in several years. The whole holiday feeling isn't as good as it used to be.

Christmas has transcended religion. Don't get your panties in a bunch because people who don't believe in gawd celebrate Christmas.

I just hate how I have to see stores advertising holidays earlier and earlier every year. Nothing brightens the end of my August like seeing Christmas decorations hanging up in aisle 13 of my local grocery store.
For Christmas, it's a lot of PC crap.
For Halloween, it's pussy crap (and a lot of psychos roaming around)
For 4th of July, more pussy shit (let kids figure fireworks out themselves for cripe sakes).
For MLK day, everyone gets off (school, work).
For Presidents' day, no one gets anything off (I think MLK means more to our country than the Founders).
Etc, etc.

The decade I lived through had some of the most commercial, "soul-less" Xmas seasons of all. In fact, I would argue when Xmas started to lose any squeaky-clean "It's a Wonderful Life" feel. It's easiest to blame atheists, but since they account for less than 1/7 the Xtians in the US, maybe you'd like to reevaluate who killed the spirit of Xmas? Could it be that the same people that spend their time bitching about the downfall of American values while buying their plastic decorations and plastic trees made in China at Wal-mart instead of spending 10-20 bucks more at Mom and Pop stores have something to do with it? In the end, you get what you pay for -- something hollow and plastic.

Wouldn't the christian thing be to allow people to celebrate the way they want (as long as they harm no others), or is the christian thing now to fear anything different?
Wouldn't it be great to allow those who are Christian the right to celebrate Christmas instead of having the friggin ACLU et al censor everything because it may offend some douche.
