Inventor of Ramen Noodles has died!

So is he going to be instantly cremated in a micro wave or what?

Maybe it's just me but all the damn flavors taste the same: beef, chicken, vegetable, shrimp, etc... Has anybody else noticed that or is it just me? I don't even use the flavor packet half the time.

They taste the same because you don't use the flavor packet?

I hope his burial isn't a case of just add water

That would be a resurrection.

While I like all the members here for the most part, I must say that comments, while intended to be funny, come across as disrespectful.
If we knew the person personally, then maybe - maybe, we can make a little fun of them, but a human being has passed away, he is no longer living.
Although he lived long, his family is feeling the pain of his loss - some of us know what that is, some have yet to experience it.
I'm not trying to dissuade anyone from posting what they want - go ahead. I'm just stating that this was a person, and his family will miss him.
I hope when we all pass on, people will think a little more highly of us.
Thanks.

Jod does have a point. Ando-san provided the world a full meal for $.12. Thats a true humanitarian effort. But something like that really means something to me. I didn't respond to Mr. Ford or Mr. Brown's RIP notices because I don't have a relationship with them. But ramen has fed me at least once a month for my entire life, and I'm truly, deeply sad that he's gone. But just like when a family member passes away, it's not a time to be depressed, it's a time to celebrate their lives, Irish Wake style.

Momofuku would not be known by most of us if not for his death, and I think it's fitting that we roast a true world hero. He worked hard to give everyone food, I think he'd like to see us have fun.

:( What a great man. He will be sorely missed. His food has saved my stomach countless times.

They taste the same because you don't use the flavor packet?

I'm pretty sure you're joking, but let me clarify just to make sure we're all on the same page; I used to use the flavor packets but I thought all the flavors tasted the same, so now I occasionally skip the flavor packets.

:) So now it tastes like noodles?

I find it's a great way to stretch my family's dinner budget!
Monday - Chicken, Tuesday - Beef, Wednesday - Shrimp, and so on!

Think about it...he ate them his entire life and died in his 90's....the average life expectancy is mid-70's....there's something to ponder.
