Indian (India) guys and interracial relationships, is it really odd?

Well I am a new user here, recently got my account activated and I thought why not post about this since it has been on my mind.

I am an Indian (India) guy and currently I am in a relationship with a girl who is Puerto Rican. Been with her for nearly a year now and we have been getting to know each other well and getting it on. I am Americanized, came to the US at the age of 5 and grew up in various states. I spent a significant amount of time in Florida, California, New York, New Jersey and Maryland. Currently I am in college and people always tell me that it is odd to see an Indian guy in an interracial relationship, let alone in a relationship with a Hispanic girl.

Personally I see there are many negative stereotypes about Indian men out there. There is an article saying Indian men have the smallest tools in the world, the whole belief all of us smell like curry and then the whole notion that we are going to get an arranged marriage anyways but my parents are okay with us being together.

When people find out that my girlfriend is Hispanic and that I am an Indian, they just look at us funny and say things like they didn't even know such a couple existed. Of course being in an inter-ethnic relationship I face racism as well, sometimes guys hit on my girlfriend and say why is she with some Indian who is going leave her for a wife his mom has set up.

Basically it has caught a lot of people's attention in many places I have gone to with her, EVEN IN LOS ANGELES, apparently it is rare there.

I wanna know, do you think there is anything odd about an Indian guy being in an interracial relationship?

People say they find this odd, they ask me what other groups I have dated and I tell them that I have dated:

two Asian girls (Korean and Filipino respectively)
an Arabian girl (looked sort of like a White brunette)
and two Latinas (one was Mexican and other was Cuban)

there's people from india all over the usa.
they usually keep to themselves and dont bother anyone.
they own a lot of convienence stores, maybe every one by now.
i get the feeling a lot of then dont care for americans too much but i understand considering the riff raff that they see each day coming in and out, unemployed, drunk, wasted.

It's funny that you should feel the need to ask this:
There is nothing wrong or odd with a gal dating an Indian guy.
Also, wait till your sister tries to date outside the Indian race: Then there really will be fireworks.
Gals generally don't find the Indian accent sexy, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume you don't have one.

And frankly, after the experience I had a with a Sikh gal who personified "pushy Panjabi" I don't blame you for not dating an Indian gal.

Actually I have seen some Indian girl White guy and Indian girl Black guy couples where I live.

Indian girls have it easier when it comes to dating because apparently they are considered exotic, desirable and unique while us men are apparently considered to be nerdy (I kinda fit that role), smell like curry (I don't even eat curry), talk in funny accents (I sound more American as people say), and basically undesirable by women. As a matter of fact OkCupid released some chart which said Black and Indian men do the worst with the ladies, Asian men do better than both which I don't see much of in real life.

Anyways my girlfriend thinks we are the only couple on earth in which the guy is Indian and woman is Hispanic.

Honestly I have seen Indian guy with White girl countless number of times and two times I saw Indian guy with Asian girl. I know three Indian dudes married to Arabian women but that is about it. Never seen Indian guy with Black girl or Indian guy with Latina (Other than my GF and I).
